So. I think maybe there will be a trailer for this soon, because they showed one at Comic-Con.

They have revealed who Star-Lord's father is (played by Kurt Russell).

Um. Wow. It's hilarious and actually I can see it working. Totally not (to me at least) expected.

This is what I was looking forward to the most in 2017 and the trailer only confirms my best hopes.   DRILLING AND MANLINESS

I was expecting them to play Superstar from Jesus Christ Superstar there at the beginning. Also I just realized that Baby Groot rides on Rocket's shoulder the same way Rocket used to ride on Groot's shoulder.

That was fabulous!

I didn't catch the shoulder riding reversal either, but it's so adorable!

New trailer.  Getting a bit spoilerish, but still incredibly fun looking

I agree, I really enjoyed it.

I did have one small issue with the movie though in that they felt the need to spell out every single character arc. There are about a dozen monologues in this movie where characters have to detail either their or another character's driving motivation or character flaw that will get worked out through the course of the movie. It's not a huge issue, it just felt like a result of the expanded cast and trying to manage their screen time and giving them all a purpose in the movie. I know GOTG isn't really about "subtle" but a lot of that dialogue is just really on the nose.

So good.  They can fuck right the fuck off with their motherfucking six post credit scenes though. Also why was Jeff Goldblum on one of the bubbles of the cast dancing during the credits? not that i mind.

Honestly, if I'm going to sit through the credits for a sequence at the end you might as well spread 5 of them in there instead to break the credits up a bit. Between the multiple scenes, the music, and the general look of the credits I think this is the first time I didn't feel like I was suffering through 7 minutes of credits for a 10 second scene.

Great movie and I agree, the credit sequence dance-off was actually entertaining in itself.

My only regret is not being able to see what was cut. They cut some Earth scenes... and not yet knowing if that team in the end Credits will actually get some real screen time.

While I enjoyed it I felt the first was better and this one was Too busy and frenetic. Like they had two movies that were crammed into this one so it could never pause for the character development/ motivation, it had to come as exposition. My only other critique was a few jokes felt forced to get a callback rather than organic.

Still a good time though. Worth the viewing.

I actually thought it was better than the first. It was visually stunning. Gunn really went for the over saturated colors to differentiate the cosmic movies and it worked (didn't hurt that I saw it in the non-3D XD). You can see from the Thor trailer that this is a conscious choice both on the director's part and the Marvel Studios part. I can see what you mean about the exposition parts - they stuck out a little bit but I didn't mind them. What they were telling was stuff that would have taken a good bit to explain without the exposition and I'm not sure it would have been important enough to waste the time on. The Easter Eggs and post-credits stuff was fantastic, especially Howard the Duck's appearance and teen Groot.

I thought it was better than first one as well.  The whole tongue-in-check tone of the movie hit me as just right.  And I laughed out loud a number of times in the theater, which doesn't happen often with me.

And the thing with Thanos (sp?)  that's the link to the Avenger's move, right?

I agree. This was maybe the first credits scroll that I wasn't wishing would hurry up so we could just get to the stinger.

Also, damn fine movie. And surprisingly I think Drax was my favorite character this time around. A note to those with younger kids -- this movie has some dark and scary scenes, so be advised.

A good movie. Once again MARVEL shows how bad DC is at what they are doing. I thought the director was pretty good at keeping all the balls juggling and my favourite character was the Ravanger .
