The thing with K-fed is his whole persona is a joke. I mean he knows he's just a wannabe. He managed to hook up with a famous singer and then after the divorce manages to get the kids. Why does he get them? Because he actually acts responsible and not like a rich little princess, that still acts like she's 15. He's been keeping clean, as far as we know. He's not out at clubs all hours of the night flashing his genitals. He doesn't do hit and runs, or shave his head because he feels fat or something. I mean.. he's definitely the responsible one so far. Well cept the part where he ditched his prego ex-gf for Brit in the first place. Then again, who would you have chose between the two? |

I think good standup comedians speak and relate to others about "real things" first and foremost, but in a funny way. They're not trying to tell jokes. The "funny" comes out of their delivery or their character or whatever.
Also, they're all miserable as hell.
Dane Cook doesn't do any of that. Instead of saying real things, he just tries too hard to say "funny things". And when he does speak about something real, he just points out humorous stuff on the most obvious and cute level. Never the mundane, like a good comedian could.
Secondly, that guy is way too happy to ever be truly funny.

The rest of his shit is just that. I really wanted to jump on the Dane Cook bandwagon after seeing his first special, but the whole shit afterward is unfunny.
Now Mitch Hedberg on the other hand... that's comedic genius.
