Probably haven't seen a picture of him in ten years to be honest.

On the really obscure front - Chavo Guerrero Sr. passed away a couple days ago. The less famous brother of the late Eddie Guerrero.

68 years old, had liver cancer.

I bring him up mostly for some really fond memories of the guy around 2004. In his mid 50s and he was coming out with his son Chavo Jr week in week out wrestling in comedy matches as "Chavo Classic". They even put the Cruiser Weight belt on him that year (I believe he collapsed on top of the then unconscious champion to win the belt). Apparently a really nice guy, and he brought a lot of smiles to my face.

William James Myers, known to fans as George “The Animal” Steele, passed away Friday, according to WWE.

The wrestling entertainment site states Steele was one of its "wildest and most unpredictable" superstars.

Before hitting the WWE scene in 1967, Steele was a high school teacher and a wrestling coach.

Good lord, another old time wrestler, Ivan Koloff, passed away yesterday.  He was actually a french Quebecer, not Russian, but he was certainly one of the most hated heels ever and shockingly ended Bruno Sammartino's nearly 8 year reign as champion.

He was the only actor to ever be killed by the Alien, Predator and Terminator.

Lance Henriksen also shares that honor, if you count Aliens vs. Predator. Also, Bill's character was only thrown into a chain link fence in Terminator -- we never saw a body.

Paxton was one of my favorite "bad" actors of all time. He could always bring a smile to my face, and honestly he was totally fine with serious parts -- it's just that nobody went over the top like he could, so I always missed it in his serious roles.

But Frailty, One False Move -- yeah he could handle the serious just fine.

It just struck me -- now really no chance for a Near Dark II...

He'd been killing it in the Training Day tv show too. Guess that's done now, since he was the only reason to watch.

That is awesome.

Speaking of storm chasers- the show about the El Reno tornado that caught Tim Samaras and company was terrifying. Apparently there is footage from them up to a minute or so before they got hit, but will remain private.

He looked really bad when he was on Black Jesus and I'd wondered what was going on, because that's not how he looked at all on Chappelle's show.

Sad, he was really funny as a storyteller. That voice was great.

Wow, I always hoped that when I got to heaven there would be a kind of minimalist good taste thing going on.  In my father's house, it turns out, there are many mansions: some of them utterly tastelessly flamboyant.

World's oldest person dies aged 117

Quote
Emma Morano, who at 117 was the world’s oldest living person, has died at her home in northern Italy.

Dr Carlo Bava said Morano’s carer had called him to say she had died on Saturday afternoon while sitting in an armchair at her home in Verbania, a town on Lake Maggiore in northern Italy.

Bava said he had last seen on Morano on Friday. “She thanked me and held my hand as usual,” he said.

Morano, was born on 29 November 1899 and was believed to have been the last surviving person in the world born in the 1800s.

Edit: The BBC has a bit more:

Quote
Ms Morano also credited her longevity to her decision, in 1938, to kick out her husband - a year after her baby boy died at just six months old.
The marriage had never been healthy, she said. She had been in love with a boy who was killed during World War One, and had no interest in marrying someone else.
But, she told La Stampa newspaper in an interview when she was a spritely 112 that she was left with little choice.
"He told me: 'If you're lucky you marry me, or I'll kill you'. I was 26 years old. I got married."
Eventually, it became too much. Though they separated in 1938, they remained married until he died in 1978. Ms Morano, who worked until she was 75, chose never to marry again.
"I didn't want to be dominated by anyone," she told the New York Times.

I don't, but I really should.  Too late now.  The odds are terrible.  The queen's been in my dead pool for 15 years, though.  I'm convinced she'll never die.  Dammit.  I almost put Donald Trump in my pool but I didn't want to jinx it.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/authorities-say-aaron-hernandez-commits-suicide-massachusetts-prison-110558946.html

Quote
One of the strangest, saddest sagas in NFL history came to an end on Wednesday morning, as the Massachusetts Department of Corrections says Aaron Hernandez killed himself in his prison cell.

The news comes just days after Hernandez was acquitted of a double murder. Hernandez was still serving a life sentence after being found guilty in the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez was 27.

In a statement, the Massachusetts Department of Corrections outlined the event:

“On April 19, 2017, Aaron Hernandez was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts at approximately 3:05 a.m., lifesaving techniques were attempted on Mr. Hernandez and he was transported to UMASS Leominster where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. by a physician at the hospital.

“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit. Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window. Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items. The Massachusetts State Police are on scene and the investigation continues. Mr. Hernandez’s next of kin have been notified.”
