Harry Stamps is only a lesser celebrity because of his obituary. But you should read it.

Argh, sorry for the chaos. Apparently I had the wrong link on the clipboard. Der Helm's link is the correct one.

RIP Vir Cotto.

rgats a shame. He was a great character actor. He actually lost a load of weight after he wrapped the role of Vir.

Michael Bond, Paddington Bear creator, dies at 91

London (CNN)The author Michael Bond, creator of the hugely popular children's character Paddington Bear, has died at the age of 91.
Bond died at home on Tuesday following a short illness, his publisher HarperCollins announced Wednesday in a statement on Facebook, calling him a "giant of children's literature."
Bond was born in Berkshire, England in 1926 and began writing in 1945, after serving in World War II.

He was working as a cameraman for the BBC when he came up with the idea of a small toy bear that he named after Paddington Station in London, near where he was living at the time.
Bond's first book, "A Bear Called Paddington," was published in 1958, and follows the adventures of a small orphaned bear as he travels from Peru to the British capital.

He is found at Paddington Station wearing a tag saying "Please look after this bear. Thank you," and is taken in by the Brown family.

Bond has said that Paddington was inspired in part by his memories of Jewish children who were evacuated to London during World War II.

Nelson Ellis, who played Lafayette on True blood, has died.  He was only 39.  Not really a fan of the show but he was a memorable character, one of the few I could actually remember from True Blood.

Horror icon, George A. Romero has died.

One of my favorite directors; I'm glad I got to meet him two years ago at a convention.  He hadn't made much of note lately, but his impact upon film, and just culture in general, is immeasurable.

The best thing about Martin Landeau dying is not having thousands of people on Twitter thinking they are clever making Romero coming back as a zombie jokes. Oh wait.

Chris Cornell, 52.

What the fuck man. This one hurts. Beautiful voice and great music and way, way, way too soon. I have a bad feeling it's going to be heroin or a general overdose.
And on Chris Cornell's birthday, Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington is dead likely by suicide.

John Heard, star of Home Alone and C.H.U.D., is dead.

Cutter's Way was probably my favorite picture of his, but he was in a ton of stuff over the past five decades.

Really great voice over work. 99 is a good age though.
