Dwayne Allen at Pittsburgh might hit it big, but Martellus Bennett vs NE is more of a sure thing.  Discuss.

Here's a thought exercise for you guys.  I'm in a ten-team league with deep benches where a couple of people keep dropping guys who are byes instead of benching them for a week.  So this is the lineup I have to choose from currently:

RBs: Jamaal Charles, Ben Tate, Jerick Mckinnon, Ronnie Hillman

WRs: AJ Green, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Emmanuel Sanders, Steve Smith and Kelvin Benjamin

I have Julius Thomas at TE and my QBs are Cutler and Foles.

Assuming two WRs, two RBs and a flex, who do you play?

RB: Charles and Hillman
WR: Sanders and Jeffrey
Flex: Either Marshall or AJ Green (if Green plays that is)

Curious about your reason for going with Hillman over Tate, and trusting the Bears in a terrible matchup after last week's dud over two Smith and Benjamin who have put up top-10 numbers so far.

Thats tough man.

You've got 3 interchangeable PPR RBs in Tate, McKinnon and Hillman.

And three interchangeable WR2/3s in Sanders, Smith and Benjamin.

Gotta go with matchups.

I'd probably go with Charles and Tate hoping for a CLE rebound back to what they do best.  At WR, Marshall and Sanders just to spread the team love around and hope Marshall shows up big @NE.  Sanders should get some touches tonight but he did get a TD last week and Peyton might try and focus on getting Julius his instead.  He's consistent at least.  Steve Smith is up and down now after playing his face off first half of season.  Benjamin plays SEA after SEA lost two in a row.

I'd try and roll with McKinnon or Hillman at flex.  Hard to put a Thur night guy at flex, but Hillman+Peyton is love and has been consistent.  TB is a dumpster fire but who knows what you get with MIN.

Hillman plays for Denver. Tate plays for Cleveland. That should be enough said.  why so serious?

Steve Smith's matchup is TERRIBAD. Cincy needs a win hard and they have a good defense when they remember how to use it. In a divisional game, I'm not sure I can safely trust Smith against the Bengals D that needs a win hard.

Neither Marshal or Green are a great pick because of either injury concerns or lack of form. Alshon, however, has had about the same number of targets as Marshall and made more catches even though Marshall has more TD's. But you must remember Marshall got 3 TD's in one game so those TD numbers are skewed. Otherwise, he's been the worse option of the two. As for Kelvin Benjamin, I do not trust the Panthers at all especially against a Seattle D that needs a win.

My thinking had been more along the lines of MrHat.  Cleveland may be a terrible team, but they love to run the football.  Denver is much more likely to need to pass frequently to stay competitive, plus it's a Thursday night game.  I also get the feeling that since Seattle needs the win so badly, they're going to pile up points early and Benjamin could land a few nice catches in garbage time.

Smith was just based on scoring to date and the fact that he crushed the Bengals earlier this year.  I'm definitely staying away from Green for this week since he's still hurting.

My turn, PPR Flex question:

Oliver VS Broncos, Garcon @ Dallas, Vereen Vs. CHI.

Pick two.

I'm leaning towards Vereen vs. CHI and Garcon @ Dallas, but I think Oliver gets like 15-20 touches tonight and a few catches.

Garcon is going to be the 5 yard catch king on Sunday though.

I'm at a loss!

Guess really the question is Oliver tonight or Garcon on Sunday.

I would say Garcon and Vereen. I think Denver is going to MAUL SD tonight and that might limit Oliver's touches.

Ya, kinda settled on that too.

I love Oliver though, won me a few weeks in my money league.

Garcon is the no-brainer in my mind. I disagree about the mauling. I'd play Oliver.

I think the Denver game could be within a TD.

Sorry I missed this earlier.  I ended up playing Oliver in one league, too, and it's hurting me.  On the other hand, I took f13's advice and played Sanders in my silly league and he's likely to carry the week for me.  I've got Hillman playing in both and it's been a nice night for him, too.  Looks like Denver is Thursday-proof this year.

e: Nice of Oliver to get that big run at the end of the game.  I'll take it!

I was excluded from the F13 leagues.

The important bit is how this is one of those Bizzaro World situations which will likely generate a L for me this week.

Tom Brady no where near enough to carry me to victory, not with Lynch having a bad day and you having Gronk.

There were a shit ton of points put up this week. Grover City Crows put up 170  ACK!

I actually dropped him in my other league, but also didn't need him. I broke 200pts (Brady+Gronk) and still have Dez Bryant to play.  It is a 2QB, 3WR, 2RB league so the points can be high but over 200 might be a first.

I have Luck and Peyton Manning in my 2 QB league with Foster and Bell at RB.  It's a good year.

Hey man, I still have Dez Bryant going tonight, and I suppose there is some small chance that he could score negative 30 points.  You have an outside shot.

How did you draft these guys? I can't imagine Peyton+Luck making it past the first 12 picks.

Luck wasn't considered a top 3 QB pick before the season started.  I got him in the 4th round in my league, and that's a 14 team league.

Good question. My guess is Luck slipped into the 3rd round in an 8 team league.

edit: If it was a 14 team league, getting Manning and Foster is brilliant, let alone Luck.

It's a competitive league, but only 10 teams.  The stars just aligned.  I picked 6th and the first 5 taken were RB's, so Manning went in round 1.  I took Luck on the way back in the snake.  Foster was grabbed in the 3rd round, Julius Thomas in the 4th, and Bell in the 5th.  The best part is that I also have Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Oliver that I grabbed week 1 from the waiver wire.

Now I'm just waiting to be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs like happens every time I win the league in scoring.
