Planet Explorers. I've been getting the Minecraft itch again lately, and I'm not sure if I should buy this or just fire up the latest Tekkit. Anyone played it?

Also, for Shadowrun Returns is it worth buying the Deluxe version and/or the Dragonfall DLC? I haven't played it yet (or the original game from way back when) but for <$10 it's probably worth it.

Dragonfall is amazing. Worth every penny. Better than the base by a lot.

Just spent 20 minutes in it. It is not complete. It's the kind of thing I'll play nonstop over a long weekend and never play again. It was not worth the money. It's a catass grindy game. I wish I'd given $20 to Trove or something.

Hah. In other news, Risk of Rain doesn't work well with the fucking Razer Sabertooth and I very badly want to play it.

Also, I want all the other Chucklefish shit to go on sale.

I picked up State of Decay on Paelos's recommendation in the other thread and am starting to regret my decision.   awesome, for real

Guess I'm going to be wrong on this one. I thought it was worth the $5!  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

It's a funner-than-average zombie apocalypse game.  Was worth the 20 I originally gave for it.

I am now playing the Lifeline expansion, which I picked up during the summer sale.  Also worth it.

Has anyone played Nosgoth?  I'm a bit nervous about picking up multiplayer only games these days...  Is it worth a shot?  And if so, which of the ten million founders packs should I grab?

I'm so close to picking up Dragon Age.

Edit: Nevermind. Did some reading - I've already finished this.

I'm curious about this too. I watched someone play it on Twitch a few weeks ago and it looked cool, but not sure how much fun I'd get out of it.

Anyone know anything about Franchise Hockey Manager?  It's made by the same people that make OOTP, so that has promise.  Only problem I saw with their past titles was that they were stupid easy to manipulate the trade market.

Rome Total War II is down to $30.  Anyone recommend this?  Looks like co-op is borked but single player, which I'll be doing, is fine.

Absolutely don't do it. It's never been fully functional. They've been patching it to hell and back, but it was still crashing on me, and they are still trying to work on the AI as of patch 12.

I made the mistake of getting it pre-order since I liked Shogun and loved original Rome. It's not worth fighting through the issues unless it's under $20 in my mind.

Np, I think it has potential to be fun, but not at that price. It's a wait until Winter Sale game, and check back then.

Is Wasteland 2 stable/complete enough to justify a purchase? $40 seems high for an early access title.

I didn't really like it.  Graphics are incredibly bad, story is pretty bad from what I've played (tries to be dramatic but the characters are written as comedy characters, and fail at that too unless you find completely out of place pop culture references and constant inappropriate cursing to be hilarious).  Gameplay is mostly pretty tedious, you run around and attack stuff with your weapons, and every room has a handful of torches to light, sometimes you have to collect stuff for someone or something like that.  It's not the worst idea ever, they just haven't done anything interesting with it in the 2 hours I played.

Totes, if you like traversal and aren't bothered by super shitty shooting (and I do mean shitty,  ACK!).

edit: there's also a lot of ludonarrative dissonance. The cutscenes are from a different universe compared to the game.

Its like a really shitty metroidvania. I think I put like 8 hours in the day I bought it and never played again. if you have that particular itch, might be worth it for 2.50

The game is worth buying. Didn't play the DLC.

KoA was a solid action RPG. Pretty nice mix of WoW-style questing and exploration. Haven't played the DLC but the base game is good enough to warrant $5 in my opinion. It's a console port and it shows in the UI. Play with a controller if you have one, although I played and finished it with K&M.

Also, I  think Tomb Raider is definitely worth it. Not much of a game, perhaps, but a really cool pseudo-interactive story. :p

Nol, not yet. It is going to launch at the end if August, and it's not a good idea to try it even a single day before thay day. Not sure what the final price is supposed to be, but it's probably going down too, I think right now you are still over-paying (even with the discount) to match what the backers paid for beta. But again, don't spoiler yourself by beta-ing. Play the finished product, it's going to be amazing.
