So the Humble Bundle, meant to be for indies, has recently had a few non-indie publisher type bundles. The Deep Silver and THQ bundles being the ones I'm thinking of. I was ok with this.

And then... the Humble ORIGIN Bundle.

Not Origin as in Ultima, Wing Commander, and other games from the past but Origin as in that shitty EA mongoloid direct download we wantz all the DLC money so this is why you can't buy Mass Effect 3 on Steam piece of shit service.

Pika?

I can't hate on them for doing it, the only thing that makes me a bit cross is Dead Space 1... and 3. FUCK DEAD SPACE 2?! They will most likely be added after a week, but it seemed weird/silly/amusing.

I have no problem with them giving to charity - I just think the idea that the Humble Bundle was supposed to be a vehicle for indies and big ass evil fucktards like EA shouldn't be able to piggyback onto this sort of thing. If they wanted to give money to charity, they certainly have enough money to do it.

Also, that's a really shittastic bundle.

I don't really see the issue. The Humble Bundle people had an opportunity to expand their operation and help more people and they took it. Oh noes, the poor indies.

Its hard to say without understanding the finances on the backend. My guess is HB is a giant tax dodge and EA wants in on the action.

If they unhinged Origin from Dead Space 3, I'd throw them money.  Along with Mass Effect 3.  Until then....

The fact that the games are on Origin makes me skip it. If they were steam keys I'd be happy to support whatever charity and maybe even put a small part into EA's pocket.

There are Steam keys for those that Steam already had, but Dead Space 3 is not one of them.

If Battlefield 4 wasn't 2 months or so away I'd say $5 is worth it for base BF3 because I had a lot of fun with it.

I own Dead Space and Mirror's Edge. Dead Space 1 PC has various issues, just a heads up. Also Medal of Honor is horrendous.

Don't know why people are getting their panties in a wad over this other than because its EA.  Origin isn't nearly as good as Steam but for the price I'm willing to put up with it.  Some of those games are actually pretty good.  Besides, you can adjust how much of your money the publisher receives, which means I'll be sliding EA's cut as low as I can. awesome, for real

5/8 of the games can be activated on steam I believe... Basically if it has a 3 in it it's origin only.

EA doesn't even seem to be getting a cut. There are sliders for the charities and the humble tip. I'm throwing a few bucks at it because I've already got Origin installed and might one day want to play some of these.

Thanks, didn't notice that. Since you get Mirror's Edge on steam I paid/donated a little (I doubt I'll ever redeem the Origin keys but who cares). For all I know they've fixed Origin into something good but I don't see a need for (myself to) install another client while steam works so well (for now). My lack of interest in Origin will probably be the reason I'll skip Battlefield 4 too...

fyi, Based on Steam database modifications, the rumors are the "Bonus bundle" for this deal will be Dead space  2, bulletstorm, MoH: Airborne, and C&C ra3: Uprising.

*edit*

Meh, HB has been getting much less indie-only as time goes on (Serious Sam series, THQ bundle, Deep Silver, and many others) so this is a dumb argument.  There are TONS of other indie only bundles that are now trying to compete with HB that indies can still go to (and HB does more deals now than before).

Is Origin not working for anyone else? Redeemed all my steam keys but when I go to redeem product code in Origin I just get a pop up window with a forever loading screen.

I just installed origin to redeem my keys and it popped up a window saying key redemption is down and they are working on it.

Considering the best games on this thing are mediocre at best (looking at you BF3), maybe it's just people like bad games for cheap.

It really is free press for EA and they don't need the free press. It's also a way to get more people to install Origin, which is also a bad thing. This bundle should be called the "All the Shit EA Put Out that Wasn't a Blockbuster Hit and Battlefield 3/Sims if You Spend Enough and Really We aren't Totally Evil or Anything" Bundle.

I needed resolution for my Liara romance DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS

Also the MP was really fun so I don't regret the purchase even though the single-player story was really crappy.

Multiplayer was the best part of ME3.

I don't have any of the dead space games, was thinking of picking them up for PS3 though; might do this way instead perhaps. Happy to drop a few pounds on those and activate them in Steam. I can probably live without the others for now.

What's the deal with the bonus bundle? Do I have to wait for it to become available, or donate at a certain level or what?

In past bundles, if you purchase it at any cost prior to the bonus bundle being released you get the bonus bundle for free.  After the bonus bundle is announced you have to beat the average to get it.

I would love so much to play that game and I enjoyed the end of 2 very very much but fuck Origin. I won't do it.

Then rejoice because if you read a little more carefully you will see that there are steam keys for all the game but dead space 1. I saw the minimum was 1$ and paid that cause, Fuck EA. Guess I didnt get the sims for my min payment.

EA doesn't get any money from this as far as I know.  It all goes to charity or the Humble Bundle people.
