EA doesn't even seem to be getting a cut. There are sliders for the charities and the humble tip. I'm throwing a few bucks at it because I've already got Origin installed and might one day want to play some of these.

Damn. I felt guilty after reading this and upped my payment to slightly above average.

Does anyone know if you can send someone else the codes for these and have them work on their Steam/Origin accounts?  If so, I have codes for the following games since I already have them:  Battlefield 3 for Origin and Crysis 2, Dead Space, and Medal of Honor for Steam (or Origin).

My dislike for Origin falls just short of "hate"...so I think I can bring myself to do this for a bit of charity.  Also, I have two boys who don't give a shit how they get their games.

HB tells you not to, but there's no way to prevent you from giving them out.

Origin and EA are donating their share of the proceeds from this bundle to the following charities!

Correct, it's free PR. Not willing to give them that. Would rather donate straight to a charity. Like the Eric Schild Foundation for Voting With Your Wallet.

I seem to have donated some money and NOT been sent any keys in return.  I am going to chalk it up to them being overwhelmed.

Cyrrex have you checked the My Account section of the Humble website? I had the same thing and the keys were available there, after clicking the Origin Bundle link bottom left. The email with details arrived about 2 hours later.

And if it's a tax dodge by EA, well, whatever. They're a vast multinational corporation. They have a thousand different ways to avoid tax.

Wow, almost 1.3 million purchases so far at an average price of $4.80, which would be about $6.2 million.  Considering almost all of it will be going to charity, that's not too shabby.

Yeah, I suspect if they'd just called it the "Humble EA Bundle" instead it wouldn't have sounded so sketchy to me, but the way it is, the cynical part of my brain can't help but see this as a marketing hook.

I think it was deserved grief asking for freebies for something that you get for yourself for a ridiculously insignificant amount of money.

So since you did your "duty" snag a couple more for the minimum and call it a day. why so serious?

So the second week games for this bundle were revealed.

An expansion for Red Alert 3... and Populous.

Like, the original Populous.

From 1989.

Yeah...Populous? Head scratch  And the Red Alert 3 game is a stand alone.  No need for the base game.

I'm not sure what is more sad, that the average price is still under $5 after this long or that Populous is the best game available.

And yes, fuck Red Alert 3. I wasted bandwidth on it once.....once.

Huh. Wasn't even directed at you as I don't "know" you yet/have any idea who you are and pretty much forgot about your comment after making the $1 comment (which still stands, BTW - though you need to donate $5 for BF3). Was basically aimed at Schild's comments and the EA&ORIGIN=EBIL  crowd. And it was serious, too.  awesome, for real

I used to pay more for Humble Bundles, but when the number of un-looked-at, unplayed, never-installed, games started to pile up, I dropped my "donations" down to about $5 per. Since I already had all the games I'll realistically ever pay from this lot (there's only 4 I don't own now that they added more) I don't have any moral qualms about paying very little to charity for things I'll never use.  Ohhhhh, I see.

So. The new Humble Bundle is out, which is actually comedy-centric and neat. However, it reminded me that the Origin bundle ended... with no Dead Space 2. I assumed it would have been added later.. but... NOOOOOOOOOOPE. How weird.
