I was surprised at that result.  There's no doubt that Mike Leach is a decent football coach though.  He's turned Wazzu into something slightly above roadkill.

We should be a lot better in a year or two. There were 3 players on WSU's defensive line that each had more career starts than our offensive line has added together. 4th youngest roster in Division 1 or something like that? When Goff stops making freshman mistakes he's going to be a special player.

I think you guys are going to like Dykes in a few years.  He may not turn you into a perennial power house, but it will be fun football to watch and you'll get some top 10-25 years out of it.

The most frustrating thing for me is our defenders all play like they have no arms - they tackle by trying to knock people over with their shoulders instead of wrapping them up. Our corners have terrible ball awareness, too.

He was on my short list of people I wanted at UGA instead of Richt. If we're going to have a shitty defense, I want somebody in there who understands how to fling it without injuring half our team.

I would say some of that is a talent issue.  You need to get him a few years to get some people in place.

Kentucky has a shot at this team with our defense and 3/4 of our skill players out for the season now.

Hell, Mizzou went from ho-hum to completely up for grabs over the course of this weekend.

So LSU has flipped a complete 180. Their defense is horribly suspect but their offense is exploding. Go figure.

Not surprising when you send a bunch of your defensive starters off to the NFL, and they are fairly young on defense - but who knew Cameron could work magic on Mettenberger?

Everyone knew your offense would get better. Your previous O-Coordinator was a buffoon.

What we didn't expect was that the entire SEC would completely collectively shit the bed on defense.

Yeah, the way Kentucky played in the second half against SC got me a little optimistic.  I still figure they'll lose to Georgia by 7-10 points, at least.

I'm sure Jerry Kill is a great coach and a great guy, but you all need a new coach, Nebu.  His health condition is not conducive to his responsibilities.

The Gators and Bulldogs lost so that means the Vols are automatically East champs right?  Right?  swamp poop

Those tricky tricky Tigers.  Also they look terrifyingly good.  Why the fuck did we bring them into the SEC again?

Our AD will never fire him unless UGA goes 6-7 again. We simply don't have access to better options at the head coaching position with other SEC teams taking all the good ones over the last 5 years.

I'm not really mad about the Mizzou game because we knew it was coming. Our defense is garbage, and the only thing keeping us together was a dynamic offense. Tennessee shot that down with all the knee injuries, leaving us a team with a better than average offense, and a shitty defense. Mizzou can score on that all day.

Mizzou will run into SC, or Florida, or basically anybody who can pass rush with a D line, and they'll have major issues. I still think, much like I did at the beginning of the season, that this is SC's division to lose. UGA is going to drop some more games. I think Auburn is actually the most likely, with Florida always a tossup.

Won a pair of tickets (decent seats too) to the Illinois-Wisconsin game tomorrow.

Going to my first Illini game since Jeff George was QB. And it is an evening game and the temp is supposed to be like 48 at kickoff with a 15mph wind in my face. If it was not for the fact that I am going to the game with an attractive member of the female half of the species I would definitely be staying home.

At least they are playing a team that is not terrible. Going to see them play someone terrible like Indiana would have been much more painful.

Way to shit the bed, Louisville.  At least we don't have to hear them whine when they don't get into the national title game.   Ohhhhh, I see.

That was their toughest game on the schedule. A team that took South Carolina to the wire and beat Penn State.

And they lost. It's fitting.

Wow, Vols beat South Carolina.  Stunned.  It was an ugly game but we'll take it!  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Spurrier wasted two timeouts and the Vols didn't completely fold in the second half.  After this and giving the Bulldogs all they could handle I'm a believer in Butch Jones!

I posted before the Vandy win.  Wow.  I really thought with Murray the Bulldogs would win the East.  Talk about taking a nosedive. Mizz beats the Gators.  Got-damn what a good day of college football!

The Bulldawgs have no defense. I've been saying this all season. When we had an offense we were functional. Now we're completely exposed.

My god Illinois is bad. My seats were on the Illinois 20 yard line. I saw 80% of the action in the first quarter.

Oh well, maybe next year when Lunt can play they will be better as their QBs this year suck balls.

Remember what Clemson does in big games?

That's what happened again.  why so serious?

Well to that end, the NCAA did fuck up the investigation. 9 scholarships is nothing to sneeze at, but hardly a scratch given they could have been banished.

Didn't Miami already self-impose a 3-year bowl ban?

Two years I believe, which is why they didn't get a ban. However, it just so happened that the year they didn't ban themselves and didn't get banned turned out to be their first non-shitty year in a while. They banned themselves from a 6-6 bowl and a 7-5 bowl. WHEEEEE. Who cares? I'd love to ban my Bulldawgs from those bowls too on general principle that they shouldn't exist.
