If Miami plays like they've been playing, and FSU plays like they've been playing...

That game could be 45-7 FSU. Miami sucks.

The Big 10 is complete garbage. I'd like anyone to make an argument otherwise. It's Ohio State, and they are playing with a bunch of candyasses out there. And somehow they want credit for it. I give them as much credit as Louisville for their schedule.

I try and tell my girlfriend that all the time (she of tOSU alumni status). Ohio State seems to leave the only challenging game to the bowl. That said, it will be rather sweet to watch them lose to a cupcake at some point. To which, I will not be allowed to speak of it.  awesome, for real

It's just absurd. They won't have a single team besides Ohio State in the top 25 when the season is over. Hell, they didn't last year either.

I mean the SEC is down this year, and it's eating itself alive. The ACC is having one of the first years in a while where it's not complete ass. The Big 12 is surging, but still has at least 4 teams that can keep up.

Oh, and the PAC-12 is a joke too. The Rose Bowl should be the surviving members of the failboat. Enjoy your traditions, because if Oregon goes to the BCS, that game will be played by teams with both hands around their necks. Stanford is going to get blown to bits by Oregon, as they would be any team with a functional offense. UCLA is an overrated mess with a signature win against a team that got dump-trucked by the Gophers.

I can watch these teams and tell you they aren't what they used to be.

Georgia is down, mostly by injury and terrible coaching on the defense.
Florida is down, mostly by terrible offensive coaching and QB issues.
Tennessee is improving, but not there yet
Vandy is improving, but they will never be better than a 9-3 team.
SC is worse than expected, mostly due to Clowney not giving a shit, and their QB issues.
Mizzou is better than expected, but they still have to face Tennessee, Ole Miss, and A&M.
Kentucky is shitty and will remain so indefinitely.

Ole Miss was projected to be decent, but they aren't.
A&M is a good team.
LSU is not there yet and having issues defensively
Bama is Bama
Auburn is better than expected
MS State is crap
Arkansas is crap

Of the teams remaining, you have a Mizzou team that is playing a backup QB and could be reeling emotionally after a bad loss. You have an Auburn team that is the only real challenge left for Alabama other than LSU waking up and playing like the real LSU. You have A&M tossing up points, but they already lost the game that mattered. Other than that? Everyone else is a non-issue.

The only real difference from the typical scenario is that neither Georgia or Florida are that great.  The West looks like the West.  Bama is still damned good.

It's not typical that the entire East is so bad that Mizzou has a shot in it's second year in the division.

Well, other than Georgia and Florida the East is usually shit.  Tennessee hasn't had anything since the early '00s.  It's not surprising at all that if UGa and Florida were down that Missouri would have a shot.

That's sort of the point isn't it? It would be like Alabama and LSU suddenly having awful seasons. It's a rather large hole in the division.

Penn State is paying 26 victims $59.7 million.  Jesus fucking christ.....26 victims!  There is absolutely no way they weren't seriously complicit in this deal.  They are getting a bargain at $60 million.

I would have taken them to trial. Nobody goes to trial these days. If they had it would have totally exposed the University and been worth much much more than that.

There are still 6 cases outstanding.

We always play like shit against Cal on the road.  And no, we aren't good.  We'll beat the bad to mediocre team and lose miserably to anyone that's decent.

Carey is a beast, though. This workload is going to hurt his draft status, but all of the other backs are a serious step down.

Doh, looks like Utah screwed up Stanford's title shot.

It would be interesting to see them play Alabama, from what I've seen they look like one of the few teams that could hang around.

Stanford still has a couple of tough games left.  FSU has cupcake city.  Bama has it pretty light.  It's going to be delicious to watch tOSU go undefeated and not get into the title game.... Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I wouldn't mind a Saban v. Meyer rematch, but yeah Ohio State's conference being on par with the American Athletic isn't helping their case.

EDIT: Also, how long are we going to keep pretending that these high-powered offenses with their flashy nonsense actually win national titles? They don't. They haven't. Frankly, with the exception of one year, they haven't even been in the game. College football at the highest and best continues to be about the offensive and defensive lines, the ability to run the ball at will, and stomping on the other team's 3rd down conversions. But that's boring and a "throw back" when they talk about it on broadcasts. Have they not been paying attention to the way the SEC has won all these titles? Have they not watched how Alabama has dismantled supposed contenders recently?

Now I know OK is a shell of their former self, but they were in the top ten and no slouches in the 12. Baylor seems to be doing a lot of things right this year.

Baylor's defense surprised me. They were very good, and OU on offense is very bad. That said, the OU defense absolute put them in a position to win the game, but the offense refused to do anything functional when the defense set it up on a Tee.

That wouldn't happen against a national championship contender. FSU or Alabama would have scored at least 17 points by the end of the first quarter with the advantages Baylor gave away. The time of possession would have been wildly different, and Baylor wouldn't have any momentum. They are very beatable by a physical team with any kind of offensive presence, and the first 20 minutes played out that way.

Florida lost to Vandy at home for the first time since 1945.  why so serious?

Also, Cal's defense is bad. Yeesh.

EDIT: Check that, Cal's defense is the worst I've seen all season. How this is even allowed from a college program in the Big 5 conferences is shameful.

I looked it up. CFBstats says that before this week Cal was 121st in the nation out of 125 in points against. They are averaging 42 points a game. That average is going to go up. I think by next week they may be statistically the worst defense in the country.

Colorado - 119th in points against
Cal - 123rd in points against

I'd say it's a battle of the titans.
