Think I'll pick up Natural Selection 2 provided I can make it home in time.

16 hours for the flash sales (Natural Selection is one of these), that is up by quite a few hours from previous years

This "Flash sale" + "regular sale" system is stupid.  I don't even buy regular sale stuff anymore.

Natural Selection $10
That's Natural Selection 2, not the original.

PLEASE tell me if XCom goes on sale. I am mentally deficient and will forget to check.

Bleargh.  Borderlands 2 is on sale, but not the season pass for the DLCs.  I am screaming at the store page like a Goliath.

Fable 3 is $12.50. Still 7 more than I'm willing to pay. Unsure why that price stays so high.

I thought it was pretty great.  It's largely down to a personal taste thing, though, gameplay wise it's basically just a mash up of God of War and Zelda, competently done but not earth shattering.  The big draw for me is the over the top mythology and art style, so if you don't dig the screenshots, you can probably safely skip it.  But I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I personally hated it, but it was due to the controls.

If you don't have a controller (preferably the Xbox 360 one) you might want to skip it.

For reference: I have played the first (with a controller) and it was an acceptable Zelda clone but not much more. Was curious if the sequel broke any new ground or was just more of the same. I guess if it set the world on fire there probably would have been a thread.

Meh, nothing in the first day that I HAVE to have.

Been a really shitty holiday season compared to last year.  The only two games that I really needed to play were Dishonored and XCOM, and I've already wrung every bit of juice I could from those.

II has a bunch of RPG elements (Diablo-style loot, skill trees, etc.) thrown into it which allows you go customize your character a lot more than the first one. That may or may not make it more interesting to you.

Picked up Batman AA and AC, even though it's just adding to my backlog. Still, 75%, maaaaaan!

I also like the "We are sorry. This game is not available in your region" publisher pack. Fuck you Bethesda, fuck you very much.
(background: Bethesda cut an exclusive deal with cenega for eastern european distro, so we can't buy / get gifts of Bethesda games on steam. Have to wait for the shitty localization and buy them in shops... sigh.)

I'm expecting some of the f13 staff to be asking for games form this, but if this is what's available, LOOOOOOOL. It has just now dawned on me that 2012 was kinda shit on Steam.

Checking my records, I never bought much stuff on Day 1 of the Holiday sale. It was always Days 2 and 3 that got me.

When I'm in the UK, I use a proxy to get my games (including Steam) and watch TV.  It's how I kept up with Supernatural, Alphas and my DLC stuff.  Now my PS3 lives in London and all it's games are American.  Something got a wee tiny bit buggered up with that, but I'm starting a new American collection of games on my new American console.  I can't stop saying American.  :(

Ok, how do you look up your purchase history in steam?  I remember seeing it within the client before, but I can't find it for the life of me now.

ANNO 2070 on sale for $32.   swamp poop

Maybe it'll get flash saled and brought down to a price more in-line with the current reality.

Dead Space pack on sale for $20, and all three Legacy of Kain games together for $13.  Sold.

40% off would be my best guess. It's already 25%, I'd guess a daily/flash sale would put it about 40%

I'd hope Sins would finally go up for a deep discount, but it most likely won't.  Outside of that, I'll probably pick up a few additional bits of DLC or the like.
