For me the takeaway was that the EVE community (just like any other MMO community) is fucking terrible. But I'm not sure that's news.

But according to themselves they are the most mature playerbase of any game out there.

Yeah, I didn't believe it even when I was playing.

They mean "smells like old cheese" mature, not emotionally mature.
