Is there a gear vendor outside the pavillion?  Looks like I won't get back in there due to my severe time restrictions and the clusterfuckativity of this invasion event.

I'm not mad at the game, it's my time issue and I accept it.  I'd just like to spend this pile of gears on something.

They aren't, but if you know someone who has the Funhouse unlocked, you can go through it with them and the Pavilion will be back to normal without doing all the invasion crap. I've done that for a couple of friends and it worked. Doesn't take long to go through it.

Afk your way to finishing the event.  The game doesn't kick you out before the 45 min event is over, if you got one minute to login on the hour just teleport to wherever the event is happening and go about your day.  Absolutely nothing requires actually beating the event, which is why most people farm it rather than trying to beat it.  Ok, there is one achievement for beating scarlet, but that is bound to happen at least once by default if you sit in on enough of them.

I would, but it's a bit challenging to even get into the events on my server (Tarnished Coast).  Most of the time I'm sent to an overflow where no event ends up happening.  Which is weird, because I thought I read that overflows were supposed to spawn events within 45 minutes of the real server's start time.

Within 10 minutes, after that the event won't kick off on overflow instances.

The entire event running time is 45 mins, if you make it to the zone in the first 10 you will be in an overflow that has it running.

You can also piggyback into running events if you know anyone in an active overflow. Just join a party with them and right click their portrait to try and move to their overflow.

Magic Find info for the patch:

Magic Find Items:
Weapons, armor and trinkets with magic find will become account bound, lose their current stats and will gain the ability to be double-clicked to select one of several stat options depending on the item.

All existing drops and crafting recipes that have created Magic Find gear will be replaced with three new combos:
Explorer’s recipes will be replaced with the Assassin’s stat combo (Precision, Power, Critical Damage)
Traveler’s drops will be replaced with the Dire Stat Combo (Condition Damage, Toughness, Vitality)
Pillagers recipes will be replaced with the Hunter’s stat combo (Precision, Power)
Upgrade Components that currently give Magic Find bonuses will be updated with new functionality:
Copper, silver, gold and platinum doubloons will give boon duration.
Rune of the Pirate will grant power instead of magic find.
Rune of the Traveler will grant all stats, condition damage, boon duration and movement speed.
Rune of the Noble will grant condition damage and might.
Rune of the Scavenger will grant condition damage and life steal.
Sigil of Luck will grant a random boon on kill.

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-September-3-2013

Notes are up.

edit:

Drips of Liquid Karma from champion loot bags have been replaced with Piles of Bloodstone Dust. <-- hope you saved your champ bags from the events.

Event failure no longer rewards karma in order to encourage players to succeed at events. <-- also seems to imply Karma may be harder to come by.

Dungeons, minidungeons, jumping puzzles, WvW camps, and towers now drop Empyreal Fragments in addition to their regular loot, which can only be earned once per day per location. <-- Best change imo. Discourages camping and provides a reason to roam.

Ranger Spirit changes:
Storm Spirit, Frost Spirit, Sun Spirit, Stone Spirit, and Spirit of Nature will now begin their recharge when the spirit dies instead of when the spirit is summoned.
Storm Spirit, Frost Spirit, Sun Spirit, and Stone Spirit: Recharge has been reduced from 60 seconds to 25 seconds.

This patch is.. really tiny? I think all the time and effort went into the ascended crafting tier.

I thoroughly enjoyed SAB last time other than the lets jump in puzzles that are green on green.

In fact, it got me hooked on jumping puzzles in the main game. It's gimmicky but fun and I got a full set of 8 bit gear out of it.

Not a fan of the once a day to get a reward shit though. Last time I ran all my alts through it.

Then again, with 14 alts, I think I'd top myself running it once a day on each :D

Right?  "Patch notes:  Keep gambling!  Did you open your bags or save them?  This patch reveals the lucky winners!"

Although I must say, I profited from the outgoing method of Karma gain.  Almost a million in the wallet simply for existing.

If it makes you feel better, I may have developed a wrist injury from double clicking all those 10 luck items all night.

I told guildmates to hang onto their loot bags and then didn't follow my own advice, so only myself to blame.

I really like SAB - it doesn't really further my character any, but I think it's pretty fun.

If you have an artificer (even just level 1), you can upgrade them (5x10 -> 50, 2x50 -> 100, 2x100 -> 200)... results in a lot less clicking, but probably only worth it if you have a shit-ton of the 10 luck ones (e.g. by opening a kazillion boxes you saved up from the last event).

Oh hey, I figured it was sigil related when I saw artificer on the crafting list.

I think I still have another 90 or so boxes left to open on one character or another. But I went dragon hunting instead. Ascended longbow so pretty, MUST HAVE.

Anyone got a decent ele staff wvw build?   Looking for more of a sturdy support build, but I'm not sure how viable healing gear is.

What is an 'activity'?

They took some of the cutesy mini-games they've created along the way and put them under the header of Activity.  They're now on a daily rotation accessible from an NPC in Lion's Arch (near the statue).  Sanctum Sprint, Crab Toss, Southsun Survival, and Keg Brawl are the ones available.

The individual activities are actually a ton of fun (sanctum sprint, crab toss and south sun survival). Keg brawl can suck my ass.

Will I ever get used to the way charr move?  I tried the easiest vista yesterday and it took me like 5 minutes.  Guardian, I'm getting the hang of a little, but this charr running and jumping is pain.

Is it really that different? I made a char and played for all of 3 levels but it didn't feel too different from a human for that limited time frame.  Granted, I wasn't doing running/ jumping puzzles but you typically get a sense if it's wildly different.

My current main is an Asuran.  My other 80 alts are a small Nord and Human.  (necro, ele, thief)

The charr feels like I'm controlling a forklift that can jump. Also, it's a Guardian, so no passive 25% movement signet/trait.  Extra clunky.
