1 day left and 7 games left to go. Please make an effort to at least schedule your games by tomorrow if you haven't played already.

I dislike the idea of a default win for a busted machine.

I'll probably be available for a game after 7:30 pm CST (around 8:30 your time I think). I'll look for you then.

I would have been on last night, but it rained, which means Comcast shit the bed and I had no TV or Internet. (Don't even get me started on how a goddamn cable company can go out of service in the fucking rain. I had less outages with Satellite. Fucking Comcast.)

Beardstorm! escapes with a bullshit Nuffle win thanks to a late-game blitz-and-catch:

Notes:

- Definitely my tightest game of the season, I hate gutter runners so much, even when I get them down to just one on the field they're blitzing everywhere and knocking loose my end-of-half-sure-thing-TDs, etc.
- Thorgrim inflicted 3 casualties on the first 3 turns, all to gutter runners hit on blitzes. Sadly his pace cooled off after that.
- Thanks Nuffle!

Beardstorm 2 - Zellar DwellarZ 1

This fucking game... I received the kickoff and within 3 turns had not only lost 2 gutter runners (1 will miss next game) and 2 of my 3 apothecaries, but scored the first TD with a well executed pass and run. The Dorfs received and rumbled the ball down the pitch, only to get stopped two squares before the goal line by a desperation blitz that knocks the ball out of the field of play. My veteran thrower picks it up and makes a desperation pass just to get it downfield to my Rat Ogre - who CATCHES IT (after a reroll). Ball secured, we go to halftime with the rats in the lead.

The second half lead to a quick (for Dorfs) score to tie the game up at 1-1. But with only 3 dorf turns left, all I had to do was keep the ball away and I get a draw - considering the gulf in TV, I would have taken that in a heart beat and set up for just such a strategy. Nuffle apparently abhors strategy and decided this was the time to absolute dice rape the ever living shit out of me. Ingmar chooses a short kick and on the kickoff gets a blitz result. He rushes towards where the ball will land, where it bounces between two of his guys twice each before one picks it up. With only 1 gutter runner left on the field, my entire front line surrounded, I couldn't get enough blitzers on the ball (and made a bad choice in a 1D block that would have been immaterial) until he had the ball on the end line with 1 turn left to play. I made one last desperate blitz with my last gutter runner, hoping to knock the guy down and send the ball out of bounds. Instead, I push him into the endzone where he scores the winning TD.

Fuck you in the goatass, Nuffle. Fuck you hard.

I was one failed catch roll away from salvaging that rat ogre thing, too, that would have been cool. Nuffle giveth, Nuffle taketh away.

Just a public service announcement:  I'm flying off to start a new job in Washington DC (other side of the country from where I currently reside) on the 14th.  While I'll be living in a glorious fully furnished apartment with wi-fi (all for free), I'm not taking my computer initially, though will probably have it shipped out shortly after.  Still, this means that depending on how things play out, I might not have a computer to play blood bowl on for quite awhile.  I'm taking off for comicon Tuesday night, and only flying back up just long enough to grab my luggage and sleep for a bit Friday night before taking off the next morning, so I'm effectively off the grid starting tomorrow night.

I may just try to ship it tomorrow since I can send stuff ahead of time, but not sure if I'll have the time.  I'll post here when I know more, but figured I'd give a warning now.

HHB murders the catfighters 3-0.  Agonizing to watch.  It looked to be a nailbiter until about halfway in the first half, when comstar failed a dodge and all of sudden the heavens were rent asunder and nuffle rained hellfire on the hapless amazon.  I had saurii catching balls in tackle zones and skinks cutting people down on one die blocks while amazon after amazon failed GFIs or 2die blodge hits.  After the first half, Comstar had i think nine players off the pitch, five of whom were KOs, and none recovered.  Just horrible.

Match is uploaded if you're a sadist.  I think at least there weren't any permanent injuries.

Anyway, brief synopsis of the Chaos V Dwarf Game. I tricked Nuffle by going to bed early so She didn't realise I was playing till the second half. The first half was absolute carnage, with no less than 4 beastmen in hospital by the end, with nothing serious, and one used an apothicary to reverse a dead result. I think one of Paelos's Chaos warriors was out too. My deathroller was the terror of the center of the pitch. It ended with Paleos succeeding in stopping my runner getting to the nd of the pitch with the ball.

Paelos was well down in numbers as the second hand opened, but my Deathroller was ejected from the pitch. so I was down to 10 as well. And I had the ball. I have to say Paelos used his warriors well. But Nuffle finally got out of bed and arrived  and so I was failing by first roll on a turn again 3 turns in a row once again. so I could do little but watch as he smashed down my ball carrier band made a beeline for the touchdown line, scoring on turn 16. He also scored a niggling injury on one of my experienced blockers, which I attempted to reroll with apothecary and it came it as a unique chance to choose a death result. What a choice eh?

Anyway, well done to paelos on his first win.
