Now I'm curious just how much of this is your choices vs. who the character is.   So many "Dude, be a man and take charge" hints from her and the character (and you from the ed: comments) are all 'wait wat? Don't you want my passive ass?"  Hm.

It's the most painful railroaded narration possible. I can't believe anyone could praise this game's writing. At some points it's tolerable, but this...THIS....
It's like the anti-Shepard. It's like I'm trapped in some disabled kid who is incapable of making a decision. Like I'm just some voice in his head, all helpless to tell him what to do.

I must admit I was a bit  swamp poop at my lilly playthrough, as I got the same one as you. Everything in me screamed "...what the fuck is wrong with tagging along, then?".

The other arcs I've played through have been less depressing.

All the girls' stories are written by different people. You might like a different one better.

How to get over Katawa Shoujo and move on with your life

Hey!

I've read all over the seemingly many topics about how to get over the game. As this is maybe a little help for you, I will try to clarify things, in order to discuss and help each other - this will as well be my own attempt on getting over it - again... So please do not post things like "olol I had no probs" as they will be ignored anyways by people who seek help. And yes, I registered just for this one.

So I've read Hanakos arc (good ending) - and I got similar symptoms some of you had:

1. The urge not to play another path, because it would feel as cheating
2. The wish to experience something like that yourself
3. The feel of losing something, sadness after the path (which is not to be confused with being touched because of a romantic ending)
4. The feel that you can't complete the route or the game, because then, (like someone around said earlier) there would be "no more" of the girls

If you're drinking Lipton, you have nobody to blame but yourself.  It's like drinking Aristocrat vodka then complaining about vomiting and blindness afterwards.

Is this... did you screw up somewhere? Are you getting the bad ending? Does this always happen?

Am I going to have to play through with Shizune just to figure out what the crap is up between the two of them?

Getting a bad ending will usually end up in the story cutting short prematurely. The stories are all pretty much railroads so this is the good ending.

Got this and flipped through it already on 2 people. (And had 3 play-throughs..oops I died once.)   Lots of shared scenes meant I'd read them here and was able to get past what I'd read here.  Emi and Rin's endings were MUCH better, tho you don't get any smarter and Emi's "problem" was foreseeable almost her entire story arc.

Hanako's ending wasn't too bad either, although there are creepy aspects to it, and it's weird to note the difference between Hanako in her arc, and Hanako in any of the other arcs.

More like "hey fuck you I'm coming with you" or something. It strikes me as overly dumb by the author to make the main hisao just let her go without putting up any sort of a fight at all. I mean, I can understand it when it's like shizune's bad ending, but this is supposed to be the good ending to this arc. Weak.

Could they try to make lens flares just a little more noticable? It worked so well in the last Star Trek.
