That's 6 minutes more than me! But yeah, nothing grabbing me this time around. I mean, how many $2 Indy games that I'll never play do I buy until I stop buying them? (answer - I'm pretty much done). I am amused by how quickly RAGE hit half-price. That thing only came out a few weeks ago. It must have been a smashing success! Like DNF.

Though I loathe RAGE and believe it impossible to heap too much scorn on it, I don't know that the "sale price = crap" argument is really a valid appraisal these days (after all, Deus Ex 3 was just on sale yesterday). It's less about "people will only pay more money for high quality product" and more "we already got the money from the people who are willing to pay full price" kind of thing. How many times on this board have we heard people say they'd wait for a Steam sale even on decent, just because they know it'll be the same game for less in December? This isn't like shopping at EBGames where you have to buy it at launch or there's a solid chance you'll never see it again, and all the discount games are the ones nobody wanted and they couldn't sell. This is publishers trying to ensure that everyone who wants to buy their product gets a chance to give them money.

There's the serious sam sale. If you're like me, and are annoyed with the way current FPS are heading and just want to shoot things, then seriuos sam is probably going to be just the thing for you.

I bought Limbo, somehow never got around to it. Glad I waited for it at $2.50, because I sat down to make sure it ran, 10 minutes later I had completed a quarter of the game. Pretty neat, though.

Is Witcher worth 2.50? I hear good things about the series but I've pretty much had it with Bioware style RPGs, which is how I categorize this. Is it worth an impulse buy?

It is, and it's not a bio ware style rpg

The first one is worth $2.50, sure. The second one is NOT worth $23.99.

Anyone tried that Polynomial game that's on sale today? Audiosurf at $10 was well worth it to me, by comparison.

I got as part of some indy pack a couple of sales ago, I found it a bit confusing, but pretty to fly around in. I think I'd prefer just to listen to music with some sort of visualization instead of play it.

Yeah, I don't really get it. You fly around and shoot stuff. It's basically a "try to get a high score" kind of game, but there's no depth or hook to it. Not horrible, I just don't ever feel like playing it.

So glad I didn't give in and buy New Vegas a few weeks back. Now I've got it and all it's DLC for less than $20. Woo!
Audiosurf is great for when you're bored and don't want to JUST listen to music. I'll play 3-4 songs when I get the itch and then not play it again for weeks. It's such a low resource game I don't mind keeping it installed.
Tho steam does tell me I haven't played it since I started working again in April. Hrm.

I do get your point, but Deus Ex came out in August - 3 months ago, a quarter - while Rage only came out 6 weeks ago. It's way earlier than I'd have expected it to be on sale at 50%. I'd have thought 25% would be more apt for the timeframe, but I guess both BF3 and MW3 are out now, so "FPS Fan"'s first choice probably isn't Rage at this point.

Last day. MtG: DotP on sale for $4, MW2 for $15, and Fable 3 for$25 are a few highlights.
MtG kinda quirks my interest, but do I still have to buy digital 'booster' packs and all that crap in order to be competitive, or can I just by the base and have fun?

Apparently you can get the entire 2012 MtG collection of card expansions and all for just $12. Worth it? I haven't played since like 5th edition.

I remember hearing that you don't get to build your own decks in that MtG game. For me, that's half the fun of playing a card game, but maybe it's still worth it for that price because it does seem pretty cheap.

Pretty weak finish to a weak sale in my view. I'd rather they just not do sales than half-ass them so I keep looking for something.

Worth it for a jump in, jump out 10 minute fix. It's better than the original release in that decks can be customised with their cards but still no deck creation from scratch. I almost got Fable, then saw GFWL - ugh.

I just picked up Thief: Deadly Shadows for five bucks. Somehow I have never played any of the games in that series.
I'd like to play Fable 3, but my list of unplayed games is so long now, there's no point getting it until it comes way down in price.

Since the week long sale stuff also ends today, is there anything people have found for a reasonable price that didn't get the press of being on daily sale? I noticed Nuclear Dawn is only 12.50, and that piqued my interest but with already having Natural Selection 2 beta to play and Tribes: Ascend taking basically all my shooter time, I don't know if Nuclear Dawn would really get much play time. Anyone played it?

There's a ton of stuff on sale with a decent discount.
I got Bulletstorm at 50% off for $9.99. It's a fun shooter though it has horrible dialog and it uses GFWL.

I picked up Payday and Limbo.
Payday got a pretty unfair trashing by the reviewers IMO. There's a lot of stuff that needs polish; mostly the team commands/enemy AI. L4D's dialog wheel and contextual stuff is just way too good not to imitate, and the cop AI is boring+too accurate. If the cops fired less, used and moved from cover more intelligently and had more variety than "fodder dude" and "bomb suit guy with one-shot taser" it'd be interesting. Like, add distinction between the people attacking you. Cops, SWAT, Military, TFA, FBI, whatever.

I actually bought Payday at full price a while ago, and the only thing I could think of complaining about was the cop's accuracy. Everything else is fine, and on a LAN party I suppose it would be even better.

What sucks is that no one seems to be playing it online. Like 7 lobbies. Makes me sad. I hope it sold solidly overall, because it's a concept that someone needed to at least try.

Picked up Eschalon Book 1 and 2, and The Binding of Isaac. I can't imagine not getting 10 dollars of entertainment out of them, unless I never play them, which is in the realm of possibility.

MW2 on special for ~ 44$ US, least the others are sane prices... though fable is so hard to take seriously as a franchise. I picked up Payday and Limbo.
So is it The Agency engine and a couple of MP levels like I suspect?

I'm really debating picking up Thief. I played it on the original Xbox when it was new, but never finished it. I'd probably like it a good deal more on the PC, plus that's the sort of character I imagine whenever I'm playing Skyrim (oh, how many times I've wished for the Water arrows!).

I thought the weekend sale was a huge let down (although my wallet is quietly thankful).
I only picked up the last Fallout NV DLC and Sin Emergence (to de-disk) which was on general, rather than daily, sale.
There were some things (almost all de-disks) on general sale that I would have picked up had they been 75% rather than 50% off so hopefully the xmas sale will be better.

I got some things on 75%, just for the heck of it. But nothing I would play in the forseeable future.
I think now I have achieved critial mass in unplayed games.

Between Skyrim, Minecraft and the impending TOR, it was really easy to ignore the low level of temptation of this sale.

Huh, I expected them to top off the Autumn sale with a Cyber Monday sale. No such luck. Guess I'm holding on to my wallet until the Christmas sale.

It almost seems like "Cyber Monday" as a whole is dying off and sites are just having deals on Friday like everywhere else. I'm seeing very little Monday deals this year compared to what I saw on Friday or what I saw last year.
