Holy crap. Orcs must die is fucking AWESOME! How did I miss this?!

BUY THIS GAME.

It's kind of a fps-tower defense hybrid with a lot of comedy and graphics similar to twilight. It's similar in mechanics/gameplay to Sanctum except that it doesn't suck, isn't absurdly hard and there is more to it than 'learn how to shoot while moving backwards'.

Not sure if want. Which twilight are we talking about here?

I was waiting for an excuse to buy Orcs Must Die, and this is a good one.  I wish it had some kind of multiplayer, but at $5 with the two DLCs I can't really complain; I spent more for two beers at dinner this afternoon.

Imagine my Surprise this thread isn't about Game of Thrones.

First day, caved on Orcs Must Die, Hacker Evolution and that RPG poker thing. Sequence was fun for a few hours, for that price maybe it will too.

I have to admit to quite enjoying it so far (although I just dip in and out of it) if you are a Duke fan and get it cheap enough you'll probably find it fun.

New sales day.  LA Noir for $25!  I might just grab it.

Picked up Orcs Must Die and Mass Effect 2 yesterday. Got the bits of Fallout: NV DLC I didn't already own today.

Got my last F:NV DLC as well. Didn't realize these were 1 day only, so I missed ME2 at $5. Oh well.

I picked up Orcs Must Die, for some reason it didn't click with me when I played the demo.  I really like it now, lots of quick fun.

Will grab the FONV leftover DLC today I think.

Waiting to see if Limbo, Bastion and Dead Island drop further.

Any thoughts on Darkspore?  It's at $10 now.  If it drops to $5 would it still be worth it?

Probably that they were going to have to make all their money on preorder sales before word of mouth tanked it.   awesome, for real

It better go back on sale for xmas and I better be able to spend $10 to get it all by then.

I'd consider the fallout DLC if the base game was on special. It would amuse me if it shows up on a later sale.

Might get Rift just to explore the world, though I know I'd never spend too long subscribed to the game.

... does fallout:NV include all the content from fallout 3? I thought it was an expansion but maybe I'm thinking too much in MMO terms.

NV is a stand-alone game in the Fallout 3 environment.  It's not so much a sequel, as it is a sister game to the franchise.  The Elder Scroll games come to mind.

Fallout 3 and Vegas are almost entirely separate. They use the same engine and are set in the same universe, but that's about it. Although Fallout 3 GOTY is also on sale, only $14.99 and that includes all of it's DLC. If you haven't played either, you could start with whichever seems to interest you more although for what it's worth I liked NV more than 3.

I played fallout 3, but none of the DLC. I'd assumed NV was a new zone and a cityscape but I see that's not the case. Many thanks.

It also looks like they're planning an "Ultimate edition" with all the DLC baked in early next year. But compared to the Australian release price of 99$ for FO:NV 23$ for it and all the DLC is quite reasonable. The text for the DLC sounds like game balance goes out the window though promising you all sorts of high-powered weaponry (controlled probably by a massive lack of ammo).

I'll let you know in about an hour.

Edit: okay 2 hours awesome, for real

It's a decent survival zombie game. It's not a run and gun type game -- it's much slower paced (at least at the beginning). I don't regret the purchase. Horribly fake accents in the voice acting, though.

Gonna do the same. And also with Dead Island. Unless I get it on console, as my wife prefers the boxes.

Another uninspiring day of the autumn sale.  If I'm waiting for a steam sale, I'm waiting to get things dirt cheap.  All these 50% off things taking things to 20 or 25 bucks don't up my likelihood of purchase at all.

Civ V is tempting at $10, even though it's another that won't get played for a while.

Yeah, I've not been too impressed with this sale. A lot of the stuff I'd want to get isn't hitting my "GOTTA GET THIS" threshold simply because the savings aren't as big as I want. I'll probably do more around the Christmas sale.

A lot of the items being listed are pretty new so I understand the 50% off sales.  Like Haemish, I'm expecting the Christmas sale to be much more impressive and I have enough unplayed games to tide me over in the interim.  Orcs Must Die is pretty awesome though.  I'm glad I picked that up.

Overlord pack caught my eye. Then I checked steam and realized I bought it during some previous sale, and have a total of like 6 minutes played.
