This is a sales thread to cover Thanksgiving through Christmas. If you clicked on this because it was stickied, you are now informed. People who make sales threads for the next month and change will be publicly berated for not reading stickies.

I feel smarter for having read this.  I'm not sure I understand it though.

I'm guessing it means that any special holiday Steam sale stuff goes in here.

Let's see if Arkham Asylum goes on sale  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Also, even though it doesn't actually appear to be on sale, I'll shout out to Orcs Must Die.  Quick and dirty high quality fun if you just need to burn some time.

Orcs Must Die is 75% off ($3.74!) for me right now.

And so it is...looks like they just hadn't finished setting up shop.  The game is well worth $4.

Edit: The two DLC for them is on sale too.  Mere pennies for hours more of entertainment.

BTW You can publically berate me for not reading stickies, but technically this sale starts before Thanksgiving... and there's a new thread for the Den of Iniquity.

Skyrim changed the game. Before Skyrim, I'd have recommended it as a solid Gothic entry (I'd prefer it over Oblivion). Piranha Bytes has a lot of catching up to do. Just spend the money on Skyrim, all the other euro style rpgs are far behind what Bethsoft just put out.

How is Elemental compared to Master of Magic?  why so serious?

It's not even a good sale. $15? Eh. For $5 it would be worth it once you beat Skyrim to death, maybe. When put up against ME2 for $5 in the same sale, it's a hard sell.

Phew, that was close. I almost got it for when I got bored of skyrim.

I've been close to pres butan tons of times, but I always end up seeing exactly that and going "...fuck that."

And now I have 80 hours spent in skyrim instead. Oh well so sad.

PORTAL 2 FOR $10!  Now I can stop kicking myself for missing the last time it was on sale.  EVERYONE gets Portal 2 for Christmas this year.  Done.

Rather defeats the purpose of just checking for sticky threads in general and seeing what's up, but you're the boss.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I probably wouldn't have noticed this thread if I hadn't gone looking for it after seeing the denned ones.  My brain filters stickies out for some reason.

Eh, it was more about the title itself and less about the caps or lack there of.

fake edit: Also, what Samwise said. I don't check stickies as much

It's the cheesecloth!

Also:  Ohhhhh, I see. on the drm fascists. You're not going to play Risen on 3 computers. You're going to play it once and then uninstall it. Stop being bitches. And if it's good enough that you do want to install it so many times that the DRM actually becomes an issue and for some reason can't make a simple phone call to reset your activations, you can get it on the next steam sale. You could buy it four times over for what you'd pay for Skyrim, even at this lame sale price.

I mean, buy Skyrim, but because it's a better game, not some sandy nonsense that doesn't stand up to the remotest of criticisms.

And whatnot.

Yeah, no. DRM is ineffective and only hurts the customer, so they can go fuck themselves.

I don't give a flying fuck if it "stands up to criticism", it's my prerogative to tell publishers to go fuck themselves when they say I can't be trusted even after I've paid them.

It's the principle of the thing. Deal with it.

If you liked Grim Fandango Sam and Max is a fun adventure game series.  If you play them one after the other as you could with that complete pack the locations and characters get repetitive and annoying at times though.

Risen still not available in Australia (Drug use apparently) but a good opportunity to pick up "Orcs must die" at a no-brainer twice. There's pretty substantial discounts throughout the collection though, so time to consider Recettear and maybe even Rift. Also like how using steam I can check the friend I recommended Recettear too not only bought it but has also clocked 50 hours on it.

Four copies of Portal 2 and one each of the Sam and Max and Oddworld packs.  Also have three each of Amnesia and Bloodlines from the last sale.  Little worried to see what the rest of the weekend has in store.

Mass Effect 2 for $5 is really tempting; I'm still not done with the first one but for $5 I might as well.

Holy crap. Orcs must die is fucking AWESOME! How did I miss this?!

BUY THIS GAME.

It's kind of a fps-tower defense hybrid with a lot of comedy and graphics similar to torchlight. It's similar in mechanics/gameplay to Sanctum except that it doesn't suck, isn't absurdly hard and there is more to it than 'learn how to shoot while moving backwards'.

According to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Ubi didn't apply always-on DRM to Might & Magic: CoH. How's the value for $10? I was actually kinda expecting it to be cheaper, but I've had my eye on it for a while.
