Woot on the skillups. Junior, my level 3 Rat Ogre, becomes a blocking/guarding Rat Ogre. I had a chance to take +1 AGI on my +1 STR gutter runner but decided against it, giving him strip ball instead. Kind of an experiment. AGI 5 would have been nice, but I figure he's probably ok with AGI 4. Then I decided to ignore my gut feeling and follow lamaros's advice and buy a new thrower. Say hello to Blind Willie!

Lamaros' advice was to get a Thrower but not pick a Thrower over a Stormvermin

just submitted   this one was really bloody and i was pretty sure my skinks greased their hands early, but eventually the injuries crested and the lizards marched on.  i killed his agi 4 gobbo and my fans killed his guard troll after i tried to be a gentleman and give him a turn to let his fanatic and trolls pound my line a bit.  victory is ours!

Yeah, it was a blitzer on my SNL themed Pro Elf team.  They've still never recovered, damned prima donna Pro Elf blitzers.  I believe it was Chris Farley, which I considered fitting.

My Feeder Human team lost a Blitzer to a thrown rock, the bloody crowd is more dangerous than the other team at times.

That and my first Ghoul in Alive not Dead died on a failed dodge in their first game making me consider Ghouls fragile and Undead teams weak.

Yeah, in my game against alive not dead, last turn kickoff, he lined uo 3 zombies for me to take my frustration out on, and then the crowd charges in and flattens my whole team, leaving the zombies standing there looking relieved and me banging my head off the desk.

Arg, forgot to do a write up for mine and Strazo's match.  So here it is.  Wall of text incoming!

Both of our teams are 1820 TV, exactly.  So zero inductions are given, heh.

Straz wins the toss and elects to receive.  After kicking off, he proceeds to knock out 3 of my players in the first 3 fucking hits.  Wolf Blitz's my wardancer at the end of the line for the first hit of the game, and scores a KO.  Next, lineelf on line of scrimmage goes down, with a BROKEN NECK.  For those of you who don't know, a broken neck is -1 agility.  So, it is exactly equal to death on an elven team.  Spoiler alert:  That was the first of 3 for the evening.  Luckily, the OMINOUSLY named "Hevan" was a 0 SPP lineman I had just purchased to replace other dead elfs.  Specifically, my kicker who died at the end of last season.  I already purchased a new lineelf for that purpose at the beginning of the season, but he also died.  That number is cursed.

Finally, he hits the 2nd elf I have on the line of scrimmage, and KO's him.  I've pretty much conclude at this point that nuffle has tired of my antics and wish's to destroy my team once and for all (but it was not to be!).

After recovering the ball and trying to get around my screen, Straz makes the fatal mistake of thinking that just because all my elves are double covered or out of range, he can get away with leaving the back left corner of his cage open.  So I promptly jump my 1 remaining wardancer over his line, run to the corner, roll a direct hit on a 1 die block, recover the ball, and get a space or two away.  Next turn he gets up, fails to knock down the wardancer, and then covers her in a sold cage of norse.  I jump out of the cage and almost fail (had to reroll) dodging away from his tackling norse, and score on round 4.  Both of my KO players stand up.

I kick off again, and he again KO's one of my linemen.  I follow up the next turn, however, by charging one of his wolfs with my wardancer, and manage to get a KO myself, which helps take some charging pressure off.  However he strikes back by breaking the neck of another lineelf.  This line elf was leveled up a bit and had dodge, so I instinctively use my apoth to save, though I instantly regret because he's still easily replaceable.

I keep up a nice wall of elves to block him from advancing, and make liberal use of my side stepping wardancer, which keeps pulling his charging berserker into bad positions.  Of which I then make a block on, and managed to break the ribs, removing one of his berserkers from the game.  So two frenzy players out, which helps me on defense.

Seeing he wasn't going to make it through, he runs around the side, hands off to another norse, who then makes a mad lone dash down the undefended side of the pitch.  I send a Wardancer out, who makes another key block, and knocks the ball lose and picks it up, and place a screen of elves around.  He spends the next turn boxing them in, but can't get to the wardancer.  I attempt a turn 8 score by trying to hand off to my QB, so he can throw to a catcher behind the lines, but I have no rerolls and fail the hand off, ending the half.


Second half starts off with a Wardancer getting Badly hurt.  God damnit.  However, Nealtor makes a great pass to my Nerves of Steel catcher, who then scores on turn 9, putting the game at 2-0.  I should note that even after this, his Wolf is still down from KO, while all my KO's have gotten back up.

Next drive again starts out painful, has he breaks the neck of Trelalu, my +agi dodge lineelf, who was pretty god damn useful.  Unable to save because I already used my apoth.  Fuck.  So two dead line elves, one of them my ONLY stat up in 3.5 seasons of play so far.

At his point I over extend with the amount of elves I have down.  I leave a thin screen up, and then try to do another solo charge with my 1 wardancer.  Wardancer fails the GFI, and hits the ground hard, putting her out for another turn.  Straz then rams the ball up the side after knocking an elf out of the way.  I move my elves around to defend, but one of my catchers with dodge rolls 1 twice and fails a dodge early, leaving me with few elves in defensive postions.  Straz knowing that time is short attempts a GFI TD, and of course is granted a failed GFI as he steps on the end zone.  The ball bounces out of bounds, and is thrown back in clear of any norse.

I fuck up YET AGAIN, by trying an early dodge to cover the ball, not realizing the elf was next to a diving tackle player.  He goes down, and I am again left way out of position.  This leaves a catcher open to a block, who is promptly KO'd.  However, nuffle is still fucking with Straz, and despite having nobody around it, Straz fails to pick up the ball.  

And hey, guess what, I fuck up again by again trying to dodge away from a diving tackle player without realizing it, ending my turn early again.  Hint, if you ever want to destroy me, give everybody diving tackle.  I NEVER REMEMBER TO CHECK.  Straz uses this oportunity to block some more of my players, and with a piling On/Might Blow combo, KO's another player.

At his point, Straz probably doesn't have the turns left to score twice for a tie, but nuffle decides to be a dick and makes him fail to pick up the ball again (both of us had long ago run out of rerolls).  I try to pick up the ball and pass it way, but of course it fails.  This was stupid of me, as I probably should have been more concerned about moving my elves out of danger than trying to score a hilarious elf BS last round TD.  Wardancer goes down with a KO.  

Worst than that, one of my star catchers his hit and taken out with a gouged eye, which means he's out for the next game.  HOWEVER, FUCK YOU CYANIDE.  I checked my team after the match was confirmed, and it has him down with a smashed knee, which gives a niggling injury.  I watched the replay, and it even says Gouged Eye in that.  So, Cyanide strikes again.

Straz finally picks up the ball and runs it in on turn 16, ending the game 2-1.  But not before he gets vindictive, surrounds the fallen Nealtor with Norse, and tries for a turn 16 foul.  Luckily, Nealtor is not to be fucked with, and tangles his antler helm in the fouler's legs.  The guy running in for the foul hit fails his GFI roll, and gets KO'ED.

Dice overall favored me this game, in that they hit at all the key times needed.  Injury dice were brutal however.  And also Cyanide fucking me.  So in the end, two elves effectively dead as I'm going to have to release them.

Bell Jar Utd. - Insatiable      2 - 1

The crippled Amazons manage to get a win from the vampires that might be playoff-clinching. This is a bigger deal than you might think as your Commissioner never made it to the Playoff before.

On the game, Megrim is as good as you all know, and my timid tactics trying to contain his lange range bombing vampire skills didn't pay off as he scored on his initial drive around turn 6 after keeping a passer behind the lines long enough to wait for that one opening as only a good QB can do. It's with three turns on the clock that the Amazons manage to score the equaliser right before the half-time with the usual amount of Sylvia Plath passing magic. After some lucky fiddling on the scrimmage line, where 2 thralls get KO'd right away, the Star Throweress finds her favourite receiver for a quick 1 - 1 right before the whistle.

The second half should have seen the Feminists grinding their way downfield retaining control due to the whopping 610 superior TV, but that didn't take the Wizard into account. A well placed fireball didn't cause as much damage as Megrim hoped, but was good enough to get the ball loose from Sylvia Plath. A big mess ensues where about 18 players battle for the ball in the centre of the field, but eventually the more prepared amazons, with lots of Guard and Blodge and Fend untangle the situation getting away with the ball and a gamewinning TD with 2 turns on the clock. It's worth mentioning that Megrim got a devastating double-skull on a key action that could have prevented me from getting away with the ball.

With 2 turns on the clock we all know Vampires can find many ways to score, but the 2 blitz event that plagued my game against Teleku paid off with a Blitz event in my favour (my first in about 20 games) that doesn't do anything more that thwarting any last chance the Vampires had to score. Without too much drama, it's 2 - 1 Feminists and now it's a hell of a rumble between Megrim, Avaia and HaemishM for the 4th spot in the Playoff with only 2 games to go.

First half skinks couldn't get hold of the ball got pushed back deep into their half, and Bruce the Hoon eventually grabbed the ball for a defensive touch down on turn 4.

Next drive got tied up in a brawl midway into the lizard's half, noone could get a hold of anything and the timer ran down.

Second half Immortal Jenkins recieves the kick off and the silver horde roll a cage down the right flank, Slann have too many lizards tied up away from the cage to break it or stop progress. 2-0  on turn 16.

Detritus the Snow Troll and Loqqai the Saurus level up.
