Falc and League.
I think most folks here know my situation. I'll be moving abroad probably in November. Once my move starts, it could be quite some time before I get internet access again. And when I do, it might be unusable for online gaming.
Do you want me to abstain for a season or what? I'd hate to leave multiple games hanging because I'm MIA.

You might have to sit out for one season. It sucks, it really does, but given your situation you would certainly miss some matches, and that would be even less cool.
On the other hand, in November it could be only 1 or 2 matches away from conclusion. do you think there's no chance you could find a way to play from your new location, even if only a couple of times?

Well, I'll be getting internet once I get there early/mid-November, but I have no idea how terrible it will be. I'll also be migrating to a German timezone.
Also, even once I am there, no idea how long it will take to get shit set-up - I'm going to a developing country, so all bets are off as far as "decent" service is concerned.

Is that really a direction you want to go? Because I must remind you, I am playing the big, beefy Norse and I will so inflict that upon you all.

If the D&M preseason tournament is over before Season 5 starts I'll put Fianna Chulain into the groove, otherwise the Hackers will play one last season.

I've been slacking for a reason ( ). Yes, Season #5 won't start until D&M is over, since part of the point of it was to prepare teams for S#5.

Yeah I have no idea what I'm playing this season, but I really need to get away from that damn pile of Necromantic mediocrity. Guess it'll come down to which of my Chaos/Wood Elf feeder league teams is most transferable with a minimum of TV-slashing-induced self-crippling.

Speaking of which, was any conclusion reached regarding the TV cap for teams coming in from the feeder league? I remember that someone suggested raising the cap to 1300, but not whether that was summarily rejected or what. I ask because my Chaos team is at exactly the point where I can fire the Minotaur and buy up to 11 players and be at 1250 TV without having to do anything ridiculous like slashing precious rerolls. I need to know if I should be avoiding level-ups in my last few preseason games.

From personal experience, rerolls aren't that big of a deal and should be slashed for TV if it means keeping more experienced players. You can just buy rerolls with inducements, which you'll get a lot of because most teams in the regular league will have a higher TV. The Ex-Presidents made it to the playoffs, but only had one reroll for most of the season. The Emperors of the Pitch will be more than happy to kill a few of your beastmen though if it'll help you get under the TV cap.

Rerolls are a big deal only in the sense that they cost twice as much per TV as everything else in the game. Obviously, money is not a long-term issue for most non-cursed Chaos teams, but short-term I would rather be saving up to replace a Minotaur than to re-buy my second reroll.
And if killing Beastmen would help, I wouldn't be worried, but obviously it would not.

This will be the new rules/rule changes: - The Feeder Team limit to join the Main League will be raised to 1300TV for Season #5. This does not mean it will be raised to 1350 or anything else for Season #6. - The Main League will stay at 32 for Season #5. This is, of course, assuming we can gather 32 coaches again, and assuming we won't have 50 total applicants. If we can't make it to 32 some rethinking will be necessary, and if we get a lots more than 32 we'll see what to do in order to give everyone a fair chance to participate. - Assuming things will stay at 32, priority to join Season #5 and skip the Qualification Round! will be like this, from first to last: * All those who participated in S#4. * f13 Regulars who participated in S#1, S#2 or S#3. * f13 Regulars who didn't participate in any previous Season. * Non-regulars who participated in any previous Season (except S#4, of course. That bumps everyone in the first bracket). * All non-regular new applicants. - So yeah, The Qualification Round! will stay (if needed) and the formula will depend on the number of players involved. The formula has to be quick, but the more chances we can give to players to prove their value the better it is for everyone. Teams can apply to the Qualification Round! from the Feeder League the same way they apply to the Main League. The Qualification Round! is by all means part of the Main League, just not as cool. - While I like promotions and relegations in some professional sports, I don't see why we should change a formula that has worked fine so far for our League. I like that everyone has a shot at everyone else, and while there's very few chances a low TV team with an unexperienced coach will be able to score much against someone with a very high rating, Blood Bowl always has room for upsets, unexpected killings and comedy in general. Also, I like to preserve a bit of the "American Football" tradition that is obviously at the root of Blood Bowl. Removing the playoffs would just feel wrong to me. So... - The Playoff/Failoff formula is succesful, so it stays in, untouched. Assuming a 32 teams Season #5, it will be our traditional 4 Divisions, with best 4 to the Playoffs and worst 4 to the Failoffs. - Finally, and in order to keep some sort of balance, the sortings for Season #5 Divisions will be arranged according to the Official f13 Ranking , same way I dealt with Season #4 (so no change here). But it is important to notice that each coach will be sorted according the Coach ranking, regardless of his or her team. So, if Strazos wins Season #5 and decides to start over with a 1000 TV team of noob hobbits, he will be still Top Tier. DO NOT FORGET THIS. - Tiebreakers will be changed: * As of now it is TD Difference >> TD For >> Head to Head >> Best TV >> Most Casualties inflicted >> coin toss. * New rule will be: Head to Head >> TD Difference >> TD For >> WORST TV considering one team's eleven bests including injured ones >> coin toss. Also, Official Ranking will be updated tuesday, and tuesday I will make the new Season #5 invitation thread.

Excellent I have a couple questions, but I'm sure they can wait till the invitation thread comes to clarify all the rules. I look forward to playing this year.

Losing in the qualification round last year should probably count as taking part in S#4?
Also, applications should follow the format demonstrated in replies 5 through 16 of this thread.
