the catcher handed the ball off to the wardancer (which luckily ignores tackle zones, unlike catch)

Only the hand-off ignores tackle zones (it is automatically considered an Accurate Pass) -- the person receiving the ball still has to make a catch roll, to which tackle zones certainly apply.

He doesn't have dodge yet.

And he's out for my game vs you too, which takes a load off my mind, along with 300 points of inducements to you.

Does the catch skill apply to hand-offs?

Yep, that's part of why you see it on Skinks and other stunties quite a bit; even though they are generally terrible at throwing, they can still pull off a nice hand-off play to move the ball quickly. (Plus they only have access to agility skills, poor things.)

It also applies to interceptions, which is really nice now that stunty only penalizes passing.  It used to penalize catches and interceptions as well.

Back home now, but (of course) I got sick during my vacation. I have been running to the bathroom every 30 to 60 minutes since I got home. I just hope its not that EHEC stuff, media in Germany are all over it. I certanly feel like shit though.

Depending on what time zone this applies to I doubt I will recover enough to play a full game.

Sorry to make you all wait on the long weekend and then sneaking out, but I thought my opponent and I had agreed that I would give up the game if I don't make it till june the 9th (I think that was the earlier deadline ?), but apparently the dog the internet ate my final pm to him before I took of last week.
And now, if you will exuse me I am off to the bathroom again...

Thanks, just used this to great effect on Ruvaldt last night. He had skinked up the front of my cage, so I used a wight and couple of zombies to clean off the back of the cage and hand off to a ghoul on the back corner. Ball carrier ghoul had three or four TZs on him, but the back ghoul had none and was able to GFI into the end zone on an end around desperation play. (Though Ruvaldt won round two of our Lizard/Necro matchup, it was a very odd game that stretched my knowledge of BB to the limit....or I was just really tired). I think it was my only TD.

Edit - we tied last night. Yeah, it's late when you can't remember the score...

Yeah, we tied, Sky.  I was pretty close to winning it, but had a crappy block roll on a blitz followed by an injury on my ball-carrying skink within striking distance of the endzone.  Ugh...I hate it when games hinge on that stuff.  It bugs me for days because it really felt like I was going to take it, and TDs are the only way to level up those damned little lizards.

Was a fun game though; still not decided on whether or not I like lizards.  My next serious Feeder League team may have to be humans or something else that is less squishy.

I REALLY wish you had said that a few minutes ago, after my game with carnifex today I was realloy torn on my ghoul level-up. I rolled a ten and was really wanting to grab the extra AV, but I weakened and took block instead. Dernit!

Block will probably protect him better than AV would have, honestly.

Yeah, just having no access to an apothecary (blah blah inducements) and no regeneration can suck at times.

You can't inducement an apothecary can you? Just an Igor which doesn't help ghouls anyway.

Yeah Block over +AV for sure. Even +MV is more likely to keep the ghoul alive, at least in my opinion -- that's one square further away from annoying, slow lumbering dudes when you make a quick break for the end zone.

I'll echo the sentiment that block will do more to protect the ghoul than extra AV.  It's hard to beat Blodge if you plan on him carrying the ball, which I'm sure you do, and that makes it even more important for his survivability.

There isn't any point to a blitzing ghoul on Necro teams so wrestle is out the door immediately as a first skill choice, and blitzing ghouls are really the only ones I would consider putting +AV on.  After that, Guard is pretty standard practice for ghouls on doubles regardless of their role or team.

Ok, that's good then. Both my feeder ghouls are blodgers, for as long as they unlive, anyway.

Play in the Feeder league, Paelos.  That's what I'm doing to pass the time, and I think several others are as well.  You should too, Sir T; try out some teams other than Nurgle.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Is Falc the only one who can approve to the feeder league or can someone else? I can't play my Chaos team anymore (their TV is too close to the pop level) but I wouldn't mind trying out some other teams in the meanwhile.

Seems like Helm is going to give up this one. I'll give him a few more hours to show up here with miraculous will to play, but I would say his lack of enthusiasm for losing probably won't put too much hurry on his ass.
