You can also get the loot in cmm, probably at a better rate.

Loot is supposed to drop as orbs (like HP/spirit) which you run over and get converted to chests in your inventory or something, at least that's what I've been seeing in Test Center Limbo run vids.

The orbs are a damage buff actually, the loot drops rarely from the bosses as coffers but the main source of rewards is the followup quest you get each time you defeat the last boss which rewards 4 coffers each time.  So you run limbo, do the quest, run it again.

I managed the Limbo Terminal by the skin of my teeth. I used my ultimate on a early wave thinking I had enough time for it to recharge by the last one, but I was off by like 30 seconds in my timing. Then I didn't realize the last boss was actually two bosses and wasted one round of my signature onto a invulnerability shield.  why so serious?

Literally dropped the last boss with like... 0:01 on the clock.

I think I can manage it better now that I know what it's all about though. I also need to find a heal teamup to full on medpak use item for my Spider-Woman. The invulnerability shield isn't enough on it's own for how much shit flies at you in solo limbo.

Since the mini patch tuning it down, I've done Limbo twice and succeeded with pugs. I have a feel that my Jean is carrying more than a little, but it's ostensibly doable. The follow up quest for the loot boxes is something more than a little tedious for the result. I had to kill Cosmic Doom and Magneto and then had to hunt down any Juggernaut, any Malekeith, any Hood and any Venom. After all that I received three mystery boxes with a Slab of Subterranea, a Soul Sword and some other equally forgettable any hero unique. They did all have challenge bonuses on them, but my luck was not really worth the time invested. The extra bosses in Midtown are an entertaining change up though.

The coffers are a crapshoot, i've had some horrible cosmic medallions but earlier i got 2 ult upgrade tokens and an energy version of the summoner arti in 3 coffers.  The key to getting through limbo is grabbing every red orb and not letting the stacks fall.  Each one is 500DR and 10% summon damage, i've ended up with a stack of like 80 sometimes.

Third pass through found me with 50k damage rating at 82 stacks, only roughly doubled my damage output. My Crushing TK was brutaling for 6 million with Unleash Phoenix running. My Quicksilver died though. I don't think I've ever seen him die.

My Iceman summons die pretty fast, but Magick beastmodes all the way through.

Looks like the last boss drops an epic insignia every time, which is almost worth farming over the coffers.

Whelp. I thought I was done with the event when I got the Forge follow up mission. That one has Ultron at the top, but I figured, wtf, I'll give it a shot. 2/2 so far. Granted both times have been strong characters, generally 1 Doom, 1 Jean, 1 SW and then an extra Jean once and an extra SW the second time. Managed a full gold run both runs, though the orb thing at the beginning was close and so was the 5 guys bit. Ultron himself has been a cavalcade of ultimate powers so he mostly falls over.

I joined a random invite supergroup last week which is something I usually never do in games with guilds. It has worked out well. First day saw my first comic doop zone. Has been great for this limbo event because every 10 minutes someone puts in supergroup chat that are at a cosmic boss for invites. Makes completing the limbo follow up quest much less tedious. Daily shared quest easy too.

Not a fan of any of the costumes, but Spider-woman TU looks better in grey imo.

I'm not a fan of the Marvel NOW! Captain Marvel costume. I'm aware that this makes me a BAD PERSON but I just think it's boring and blue, two things Carol Danvers shouldn't be.
It looks too much like someone got confused and thought Captain America and Wonder Woman were the same person.

Chris Anka's done a slight re-design for All-New All-Different Marvel which is better - nicer looking gloves and boots and a utility-sash (!), but it's still blue:

There was some sort of shield/hydra card icon datamined also so my guess is they all come from there.

When did Hawkeye lose an arm?

Could be that he is a southpaw (left handed)? Oh, found it, he is supposed to be ambidextrous, but in the movie Jeremy is left handed so he is shown using that draw all the time. So his hand with the glove would be the archery shooting glove maybe? They didn't detail an opposite palmar side archery guard on the right did they?

*edit* Didn't have the picture out. No archery arm guard on the right palmar side. I guess the outside forearms are for protection?

He's talking about the metal arm.  War Machine is all kinds of fun.

War Machine is all kinds of fun.

What build are you using? He's not clicking for me and that doesn't seem right because he LOOKS fun.

I was trying a ranged/ melee build prior to 40 and now I'm trying a heat/ spitfire build - because, FLAMETHROWER - but it's still not working for me. I'm finding he's too squishy to stay in melee long and both of those builds don't bring the AOE for Challenge maps.

Full ranged.  Max everything on the ranged tree except the basic and suppressing fire.  Starktech upgrade, built for war and the sig on right tree, dump extra points into ex wife. If you feel squishy keep purple heart toggled on (thats where i mostly keep it since i spend most of my time in CMM, or in case of war if you want more dps.  Between plasma cannon, clear the room and ex wife i find i have more than enough AOE, i guess you can always 1pt suppressing fire for more aoe but 3 high damage cooldowns should be enough (plus there is no room on your bar).  You can always spray a room with your machine gun spender. Edit: with just a couple days of unique hunting and only one arti with hps on it he's sitting at 30k hps and 22.5% base damage negation with purple heart toggled on, not to mention using his spirit regen gets you a 6k heal every 6.8 seconds.  Ranged chars don't get any tougher than that.

My problem leveling is that he's just an absolute spirit hog and that's not fun at all. It's been a long time since I had to bust out the spirit artifacts and even then I am running dry constantly using his spirit return which doesnt' show up until comparatively late. I never get a chance to mess with his heat mechanic because I have to wait to regain spirit.

Ok yeah that's what I was looking for. Now he feels like his name, a real War Machine. Thanks, Threash!

I assume you're using beta names, because the ExWife isn't on the tree. You mean Hammer of War maybe?

Yeah I had this problem early on, too. Tons of spirit problems only mitigated by the constant level-ups I was getting. (potions and xp synergies ahoy! +563% xp right now)

When dings started to slow-down I started using the chainsaw basic power instead. (since I was meleeing & hybrid)  They're not terrible damage-wise and since respecs are free now, may as well dump points into the non-spirit powers when lower-level. Give that a shot and stick chainsaw or the ranged on as your primary attack until you level-up more.

I just said screw it, downed some pots to hit 400 bonus XP, put in the partial stack of gibborms and bought a M'Kran. Around level 40, 800 spirit and level 20 of his spirit restore, things get a bit more entertaining.

In the end, I'd say Warmachine is ok. His CDs are too long for their strength and for just general game play enjoyment. I find myself sitting around waiting for the CDs to come back too often because Total War is just a single target thing. It needs to pierce or explode or something. You have to single target the stuff that your CDs don't kill. Which brings me to the other point, as you push up against rank 50 in a skill an 8 second CD should be killing all the things and his 15 second CD should kill all of the things and then some extra juice like Doom's Latverian Air Defense, that's a 15 second CD. Finally, his skills are unresponsive. I can't mash the crap out of them and they won't go off on occasion. His one off knock off is a literal killer in this area. That frequently doesn't fire and when it does decide to fire, the animation lock locks you invariably in the wrong place and you get blown up before it finishes. Finally, why'd they just cram Luke Cage inside that suit? Whenever he talks I just kind of cringe.

Cable took a bit to grow on me, but I kind of enjoy him.

Oh, one last thing on both of them, they have terrible tracking on their pew pew. Warmachine is particularly bad. Doops can get away because as long as they stay moving Total War can't hit them because his tracking is so slooooow. Hyper Viper Beam on Cable is similar, but at least it is a wide column.

Still better than what he was, I guess.

I am actually fairly impressed that all three of cables trees are fully viable and effective builds that all feel unique, i don't think they've managed that with any character so far.

He's still basically a bloke with a gun.  Except he now has a stick.  If he wants.  Not sure why you'd want a stick.

I'll be brutally honest;  haven't really fucked about with the psionics much, just a little, and now that I'm specialised, I give less of a fuck than Bob at a Feminism Rally.

As I say, he's better than he was.  Also, I'm levelling surrounded by Warmachines.  I mean, literally wall to wall Warmachines.

Two of his builds don't even use the gun. It's actually kinda silly watching him standing there holding his gun and then not using it at all.  But all three builds work, all three do good damage, all three feel unique and fun to play.  That's a huge success story.
