So is it now better to have your team up hero active?

I liked having mine out anyways, but Domino at level 25 looks like she's going to do more damage than I do at 40.

I had just finished patch and was in game when someone posted about gamespot giveaway in chat. I got a code and then walked over to a co-workers desk and it had run out when he tried. I had no other characters unlocked besides cap. Got Emma Frost with random box which is one of only a couple in entire 48 list that I knew practically nothing about from Marvel lore. Just read about a buff she had that was desired in every raid getting nerfed with this patch. The changes to her dominating the board talk I can't find any info if she is fun to play or any good.

Pretty sure they still get smashed at harder difficulties. The away bonuses were too good on Magik for me to try her live while trying Summon DOOOOM.

They have more hps than you and like 30% damage resistance, they should be able to handle themselves just fine.

Well they do tend to stick very close to you.  My lvl 36 clea has 34k hps already, and passive 30% dmg reduction.  I don't think she has died yet.

If they do, then they're ahead of most players.

They've made every hero except Doom a starter hero, so you can now play everyone till level 10, and opened up the 'uncap button' again.
This is confusing the heck out of me cause now I'm going to lose track of who I haven't purchased yet.

It would be nice if the ones that haven't been unlocked yet had a different color background or outline or something.

If you cap them at 10 (all of a few mins, tops and who doesn't want to try them all out, right?) then their level gets a bar over the top until they're unlocked.

One of the new bonuses on teamup gear lets you heal them when you use a medpack. They should stay up in everything but like raids and cosmic midtown.

I guess team ups don't have any kind of experience bar so you can see how close they are to leveling?

Not that I can find. Unless I am entirely blind and dumb. I can see their levels but now how close till the next.

It seems to go up fast enough at least.

Oh god everything about Doom is incredible.

Think the difficulty indicator only appears for unlocked, or something.

Sure there are lots of subtle things that let you know which heroes are unlocked and which aren't, when you look for them (like say the max level of 10).  It would just be nice if there was something easier to see at a glance.

Damn game rediwoaded itself on me. 16GB and 3 1/2 hours later I finally got in.  Anyone else have a similar problem?

I've had it before, and the steam forum has many people reporting that it just happens sometimes.

Team ups now all have passive health regen. This doesn't seem to be mentioned in the notes but makes practically all of them decent in companion mode while levelling.

Week Two

Birthday Present! -- Free Hero of Your Choice (pre Doctor Doom)

I'm guessing this requires actually logging into the game in that week to get the present? What a week to be going on holiday!

You can claim it in game today.

They are using the new player uncap-a-hero system to deliver a free hero.

Talking of which, Iceman or Vision? Everyone seems to like Iceman but not heard much about Vision.

Can I just say that Wife got DoFP Logan costume in a card and doesn't have Wolverine and, frankly, FUCK THAT ?

Can I ?

Iceman is really cool (no pun intended) and I haven't played Vision.

I've seen this mentioned twice, but if I click on uncap, it asks to spend G's or Shards.  Is there some other trick to it?

I think work machine had only a 3 GB patch. Home machine had 3 GB when I started it last night but this morning when woke  it was doing another download and had 8 GB left in it (and who know if more to come). Problem is work can download at 1.5 MB/s while at home it is 150 kB/s. 8 GB will take 16 hours.

Probably not, I expect I was just making a stupid assumption in account of not having seen the uncap button for a while.

The music is the best part.  Pro tip: shift clicking lets you turn on a dime during his ult, the turning radius is way too large to use it effectively otherwise.

Thanks for that, I had not tried shift-clicking but that will be so much nicer.

Doom is so self-serious, I love his dialog.

Serious question - I am legitimately loving this game. When I played it in beta, I hated it. Did they like, hire someone and make the game good? How long ago did that happen?

It started soon after launch.  Same team.  They were just willing to scrap shit that didn't work and listen to the problems customers had.  Not necessarily all their ideas, but at least with enough sense that they could see what was being said.
