Hero Stashes would appear to be the most fucking pointless thing ever.

I could be wrong.

I save extra insignias and non-bound uniques in them. The odd costume drop will also go there, but otherwise yes they're rather pointless.  If I didn't get a free one with hero packs I'd never waste the money on them.

They are a great way to store any uniques for that hero and unbound uniques that any hero can use so you can get sets to exchange at the crafter.  Along with insignias, you can also store unbound rings in them.  I'd only get them on characters I use a lot and thus get a lot of that hero's uniques.  They could also be handy for a hero you plan on prestiging, so you can store lower level gear for the next time they level up.

Over and out.

Gambit is pretty badass. I'm not playing Rogue, so that's really all I got right now.

Duoing with Nevermore's though, so I get to see all the funky power combos. It does always strike me how beautifully cohesive Gambit's powerset is in comparison though, definitely the prettiest pretty-boy in the game.

I get by with only 3 general tabs but 6 or 8 hero tabs (and 3 crafting). Rings, insignias, uniques, cores, medallions, and artifacts are the things you wind up hoarding late game if you care about min-maxing your gear. The first three can all go into hero tabs, cores go into crafting, and only artifacts/medallions need go into general. Artifacts and medallions are also the easiest thing to say goodbye to if they get crap rolls, while uniques need to be saved up for dupe trade-ins and rings/insignias/cores all have that "well maybe I'll need this particular obscure combination of affixes someday" factor.

Steam has the Rogue pack 25% off, $14.99. The niffty thing is that it comes with 500g as well as her stash.

Random question, is there a MMO Champion like site for this game? Trolling the forums is annoying. I would prefer someone else doing that for me.

There isn't one that can actually keep up with Gaz's dev schedule.  awesome, for real

I loaded up this game again after playing it a bit when it first came out.

Ended up playing for 3 hours.  Its fun!  A bit grindy, but fun because ALTS.

Why can't I play this with a gamepad though :(

Also, I generally have no idea what's going on with crafting/enchantment/items in general.  Just equiping ones that give me +1 to skills since that's very Diablo 2 and I understand Diablo 2.

Actually, the whole thing is very Diablo 2, up to and including putting points in things that are shit and you'll never use and then crying about it because respecs cost real fucking money.

Also, Alts ?  Who can afford Alts ?

I have The Thing, Storm and Iron Man.

Iron Man is shit, but looks cool.  Storm looks good and fucking rips shit up wholesale.  The Thing has an orange rocky penis.

What, no.  Iron man is probably the best hero right now after the surfer nerf, and you can build him practically every possible way since every single one of his skill but two are awesome.

That is exactly what this is.

Since a few newbs have been posting in here I'm going to update/repost my item rundown from some pages back. The emphasis is on preventing you from selling valuable things and regretting it later.

Relics (pink): The shittiest ones are tenacity, move speed, and damage return, so feel free to leave those behind. Try to hang onto the rest unless you're absolutely sure you never want a melee hero or whatever.

Runes (pink): Save if you can, but the 270-cost ones are pretty common (like, I'll give them away for free) so don't feel too bad about vendoring those. Absolutely save anything that vendors for over 600.

Anything else pink is probably special and worth keeping (by the way; pink is the color code for "this item relies on Special Item Find" - everything else relies on Rare Item Find).

Artifacts (orange): Low level stuff is whatever; Latverian Regalia is the only one with any worth so you can vendor everything else. Once you get to level 40 or so you want to start paying attention to which ones are valuable for trade. Too much to list off the top of my head, but if it doesn't have at least a couple hundred points in a couple different DPS stats it's probably not worth anything.

Anything that says something to the effect of "collect these and sell or donate them" is event-specific vendor junk; donate them to your vendors.

Elements (teal) can be farmed as needed, and you don't need them often. I haven't picked up an element on purpose in months.

Uniques (brown): Don't vendor these; later on you'll unlock crafting recipes to upgrade or recycle them.

Rings, insignias, medallions, and non-unique gear (all green, blue, purple, or yellow), as well as costume cores (teal), will all be eventually outleveled so donate whatever you're not using.

Donate everything to your crafter first. Once crafter is up to 10 you may wish to divert resources to your enchanter if there's a particular runeword you want; otherwise just keep maxing the crafter.

The enchanter unlocks the "river of souls" runeword at level 10 which uses some of the most common runes and gives spirit, spirit return on abilities, and spirit cost reduction on everything.  Basically it is the default good on everyone runeword you can use on every char.

FYI, you don't have to spend real money on retcon devices.  You get one every time you beat Bullseye in story mode (so up to 3 per hero).  There's a small chance they'll drop as loot (I'd say I've had maybe 5 or 6 drop the past couple of months, so rare but not mythical like costumes).  You can also buy them from Adam Warlock for splinters (not really worth it if you ask me, but if you *really* need a respec it's better than spending real money).

For those who may not know, David Brevik is the guy in charge of Gazillion.  You may remember him as the guy who made Diablo and Diablo II.  I never played Diablo III, but it seems a lot of people think Marvel Heroes is a better Diablo III than Diablo III is, and I imagine the reason is Brevik.

Raptor Stone is another lower level summoner item.  Two artifacts very helpful for leveling are Mark of the Odinborn and Scrolls of Pama. Both return spirit on orb pickup. The only people I have not used or wanted to use them on are Cyclops and Invisible Woman.

D3 2.0 is better mechanically. The respec thing and just flow on the skills is that good, but the host of characters and just general ambiance of MH is what keeps me playing this instead.

They're also regularly awarded as one of the login rewards.  I have 13 respec tokens in my bank at the moment and I've used at least 4. I haven't bought a single one for real money or shards.

Iron Man is shit at the early levels after his level 52 review compared to what he was before. E.g. his AoE capability is really poor even into his 30s (where I'm at) now. If you were already at 60 pre-review you wouldn't notice how bad he is at early levels now.

Yeah.

His repulsors are utter shite until the blast, blasty pew pew one at 28.  He really, really has shit energy and recharge rates are awful until you figure out the shield pulse.  The missile stuff is cool, but a real, real energy guzzler.

Also, he has 4 passive switches that are a pain in the arse.  Also, his statistics is so fucking bugged, you'll find you're doing 200 damage, no 400, no 1,800, no 2.

It's a bit of a kludge.

Compared to Storm who makes little pools of death everywhere and people walk into them and drop loot.

Storm really is the best designed hero out there. She's really tough to mess up. There are optimal choices to be made, but there are very few wrong choices. About the only thing they could really do would be to make the auras mutually exclusive and tell you to choose based on what you want Storm Surge to do.

I think that's the one thing that D3 does objectively better. You can't really fuck up a D3 character. You can make poor choices, but everything is at least decent and screwing up just means you need to get out of combat to fix whatever you did wrong.

But that's part of the problem of D3 as well.  I have all the heroes and feel little to no urge to make others because, well, they'll be exactly the fucking same.

Whereas, if I find two builds in d2 or MSH, I may make another.

You can't really make another or at least I don't think so. You can only have one of each character. You can prestige to do it again, but you can't have multiple Storms, can you? I suppose you could have an entire other account, but that would defeat some of the purpose of the shared account things they have built.

Retcons were bugged for a few months and not dropping, but they fixed it a few patches ago and you'll get one randomly every once in awhile now. Between Drops and login gifts, I have anywhere from 10-20 at any given time, depending on how build happy I am feeling at any moment.

Wolverine's "Borrowed Ride Ability" is one of the nicer travel powers. It has really great movement animations, sharp turns feel like a motorcycle slewing around. It's really quick, it clips through destructible objects and there's no cost.

Flights are used for fast mobility on maps like midtown madness not in combat. What I do is I have my flight powers on a second key bank and then just flip to it when traveling and use my dash for combat. Few builds are tight enough where a single point for big boost to overland movement speed is a huge price to pay.
