Huh, I might have to try that. I leveled Gambit to be a credit find character before realizing that my old standby SW would probably be as good or better thanks to having trash clear + mobility all in one button. I could see him being a great dedicated RiF/SiF guy though.
Melee Gambit was surprisingly fun to level considering how generic his kit is. AoE ground effect, single target builder, single target spender, AoE spender, Damage buff, and nothing else - sounds like yawnsville but somehow it's not.

Luke Cage is usually the go-to credit farming guy. And yeah, Gambit is fun no matter how you play. Not sure why, there is nothing special about him, his whole kit is just really well done.

My one constant in games like this is that I cannot stand any sort of summoner class no matter how much I want to like them, so Cage is pretty much out.
My brain keeps trying to talk me into Squirrel Girl though.

Oh man no, Cage is not at all a summoner class. Cage is a melee brawler, his summons are a complete after thought.

They are quite durable, though, and reasonable taunters which helps with Cage Was Here attacks.

Psylocke plans:it's going to be amazing. We've compiled a ton of feedback and made some larger scale mechanical changes to open up her build options. The current plan is to move the secondary resource away from an 'alternative spirit' mechanic and into a damage shield style mechanic (allowing her to use the Psionic Construct powers at any time), and focus her gameplay more on mobility and stealth. Fuck. That. Shit. I'm going back to Taskmaster Punisher Hawkeye.

I really like psylockes psychic power tree but it just hits for so much less than it seems like it should and is so spirit hunger its just not very viable. Her stealth mechanics unless they revamp how stealth works in this game is a terrible way to go with her. Her stealth powers are ones that most people ignore currently because with all her dots the are super fidgety to use. I will wait to see it in play but that really does not sound like the right way to go with her baring them totally reworking how stealth is handled in game.

They said they were going to change assassinate to be useable a few seconds after you stealth, sorta like the DD kick you use after finishers, rather than from stealth. That would work way way better and probably be enough to put her in a decent place.

A couple of her powers are already like that and are still typically way to fidgety to bother using. Most common builds ignore all but a couple of the assassinate tree the jump aoe is good and popular and there is one other popular aoe strike but that is pretty much it. Most of her big damage is from her psychic construct powers.

What is there to heal? Twice I've seen some sort of soul sickness debuff. No clue what caused it, but I believe the first time I tried him and it didn't get cleared. Anyway, back to Farmbit. If you have Deadpool, don't forget his synergies when you start farming. Deadpool + Ghambit = 10% RiF and 5% SiF.

Tried the Farmbit build this weekend while leveling Gambit up. It's a really nice build.
I only netted 4 uniques and an average of 1 cosmic a boss but my RIF is only 106% and my SIF is 85% as I haven't focused on find-gear. Just his passive and Deadpools L25 were enough for him to seem like a great choice. Thanks!
Also, finally got my crafter to level 20. That IS where you get the unique unbind recipe. Long slog and many disposed-of sentinel dolls. (7) Thanks.
ed: Oh, also if you're a newb like me be aware of the Unique Upgrade recipes. If you find a unique at level 20 you can level it up to 40, 50 and I think 60. Worth it if it's got good stats. Wish I'd known, as I donated a few Uniques when I got higher level versions.

There are also the unique exchange recipes. 3 duplicate uniques = 1 random unique at your character level. 4 = 1 for your current hero. I believe 5=1 any hero unique. All come out at your character level.

And the unique for relics exchanges, i prefer those since the game rains uniques down on you.

Yeah when I first came across those I was thinking, "Wtf, I haven't gotten any unique duplicates much less 5." I then proceeded to get Silver Surfer's armor 3 unique-drops in a row during the Omega event and it became, "whelp, ok then! Now it makes sense. "

Yea, it was not great. It's really one of the big reasons the game has caught on so much. The fact they actually fixed all the horse shit in a timely manner. Still do, their change/patch schedule is ridiculous.

Definitely. I played it last year, hated it, someone convinced me to come back and it's night and day how much better this is.
As for the gambit farming build, that is also really close to the general ranged raiding build. With 10 points in Destroyer Armor (in the arcane attunement omega tree) it becomes an even better build by removing the need for any spirit management

I kicked this up again too and yes it is definitely better than in beta. I've been going around mowing everything in sight with Strom and got 12 levels in about seven seconds or maybe eight. It's beyond superhero stuff, it's supergodmode and of course it's quite enjoyable. But I definitely don't feel like I am missing so much, I'm pretty sure that's it. Isn't it?

I don't know that there's much to miss, even after all of my questions. Most things are fairly clear. Donate every excess item to the crafter, enchanter, gear vendor, then weapon vendor, in that order. You "level up" your crafters and vendors to get more stuff. The first target is lvl 10 for the crafter so you can put a core, which starts droping around lvl 30. You go past 10 to get the unique exchange and some of the more esoteric unbinding recipes. The enchanter gets more recipes. The gear vendor gets two rare enchanter recipes for sale at 15 and the weapon vendor has artifacts show up rarely once it hits 15. For leveling, the "optimal" thing is to story to 10. X-Defense to 20 and then Legendary Quest to 60. LQs are vaguely reminiscent of adventure mode in D3. You get sent to various terminals, parts of the story quest or Mid-town to do things. Even then, it's ok to just do what you enjoy. I spend most of my time in Midtown, rerolling LQs when I want to feel more useful. Each hero can have 10 synergy points. Those are perks from leveling other heroes. Each hero offers 2 perks. They unlock at 25 or 30 and at 50. You can pick and choose and change things around. The story has 4 power points, 1 retcon potion and various +HP and spirit bonuses. You can get the various story rewards once at each difficulty level for a total of 12 extra power points. The Gameplay Guides section of the forums is surprisingly high quality. Most of the hero forums have a couple of decent suggested build guides.

Make sure you pick up eternity splinters, thats the currency to buy new heroes. Finishing the story once gets you enough splinters to buy your next hero if its one of the 200 splinter heroes, or a random hero box.

If you find yourself at all interested in spending money on the game, think hard about that $200 thing from the webstore before spending on something else. You get all but half a dozen heroes, their assorted stash tabs, at least an extra costume for each, a bunch of those dumb gamble cards and 2000 in game monies. While most of these store stuff is a decent value proposition, that pack is leaps and bounds past any of the deals. But that's only if you find yourself with a hole burning in your pocket.
Anyway, one new thing are the rotating weekly events. This week is the Cosmic event. Each event has an associated currency. The event vendor appears and disappears with each event. Supposedly in this week's patch, there's going to be a new currency tab to take that stuff out of your inventory. There's also the Armor event, the Midtown event and the Omega event. The Omega event has a team up purchase-able with event currency, but you'll need to see 3-4 events to see enough currency.

Some of the costumes also seem to be exclusive to that package too. I could be wrong though since I don't play a lot.

I don't believe the costumes are exclusive, but they are stupid expensive for cash, on the order of a hero. None of the costumes are ones I call the really interesting ones.

Ironically diablo 3 pretty much has the same kind of healer in each hub and it is exactly as useless as it is in marvel heroes. Its pretty much a left over from the old design of these sorts of games with healing only via consumables so one benefit of going to a hub was topping off your health/mana without having to burn a consumable to do it.

Yup first run through I do recommend doing the full story mode at least once. Its pretty neat it does not take that long as you reach its end by around level 30 and doing it the first time gives an initial boost of splinters that is enough to get you a second champ.

So, where do I go to for nice build information ? Because I get the feeling I've fucked Grimm and Ms Munroe already.
