So, I hit that magical 175 last night. As I'm making my way to the man, I have this masochistic urge for Cyclops and what do you know, Cyclops it is. X-Defense sure is the way to get to 20 PDQ.  Looking things over, I can see that he's the very definition of low stress gaming. I thought Cable was not terribly involved, he's got nothing on Cyclops. For a very short and painful period in the first couple of levels, I did the punchy thing because his initial eye laser is that bad. I will say he does have the most involved punching animations I've seen so far. The thing that really gets me is his odd posture while running. He has this hunched over run that looks like at any given moment, he's ready to stop, squat and drop a load.

Woah.. multiplicative and not additive? So with the drink & bar you're getting +186% and not +174%?

The cyclops update is coming soon and from what they've shown he is going to be a total bad ass.

I'm not sure I'd really want that. Low stress gaming is occasionally what the doctor orders. If I want more, I can play the Doctor with his multiple bars and mental timers and what not. Sometimes, you just want to BUTTAN! your way to victory. I would like it if they had him stand up though. This I gotta crap thing is just too much.

+210% I think. 1.24 * 2.5 = 3.1.

Bar + Drink are additive so only 150% * 1.24 = 186% for day one.  168% on next Thursday, though, so .. 402%?  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

The 24% server-side boost affects your base 100% as well, is what I'm saying.

Oh, this is yet another reoccurring event. I'm a little less peeved now since I can continue to skip the X-Defense Daily Shared event.

Pretty sure Gorilla Pelt is BiS for a lot of physical characters? And at least it's not intelligence or speed.

edit: I'm still jealous, is what I'm saying.

It looks like in the last patch they have added in the list of chapters an indication for if a reward is available for completion of that chapter and if so have you already collected it or not. So the cheat sheet is less necessary now than it was.

It actually ended up being very good on wolvie who i've been playing (he kicks mayor ass btw).  I think the rest of my tokens i will save up for Coulson in case he turns out to be good, if he is not i can always blow them all on boxes at once.

I started on Cap today and I really don't get it. He has bad AoE, terrible range, no DoTs, mediocre mobility, terrible life and spirit regen, and a bunch of abilities limited by variable-length cooldowns that are difficult to track. I have to get up in people's faces to do anything but the complete lack of sustain means I'm quickly relegated to running in circles using one of the impotent shield throw moves while waiting for my medkits to kick in. It's the least pleasant experience I've ever had in-game. Using Airborne Assault is fun once every 8 seconds I guess.

Pushing through for ten more levels to get the 3% xp synergy and then dropping him like an ugly baby.

That's going to be fun.  Really glad I spent a survey gift card on the character pack now. Found StarLord to be good fun, although a tad annoying to keep reloading ammo for.

I don't know, I don't find him the most terrible out of all the melee chars I've got but he's got a lot of uniques on my acct for a level 30. I find him more enjoyable than Daredevil and Psyloche.  Keep throwing that shield for the +punch buff and just pummel shit.  I don't find him tanky/ survivable enough, though, I'll agree with that.

Her ult gives her the signature powers of four characters (wolvie, psylocke, colossus, nightcrawler) with a 2-3 second cd and virtually no spirit cost. It SHOULD be Angels also, but he is not in game.

Wow.  Rogue is going to be a lot of fun to customize.  I wonder if it's a set power per hero, a random assortment, or depends upon the level stolen.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

Set power per hero.  Also its the same power if a character is a hero and a villain, but the tree it goes in will change depending (but you can't have it twice).

Yeah, I wasn't particularly interested in Rogue before but after watching the livestream (it's here) she's kind of looking like the last hero anyone will ever need. 100+ powers.

On the other hand, I already spend way too much time theorycrafting builds in the training room. If I buy Rogue I might never actually play the game again.

Do you have to be grouped with heroes to get theirs, or just in their vicinity like in Midtown?

Just in the vicinity. I watched a few mins of the live stream, and while in Avenger's Tower they made the comment of using hubs as "shopping centers" as you go looking for powers from different chars in the hub.

Edit: just saw this from Doomsaw on reddit in response to someone saying it will be tough to create a char better than Rogue - "Doctor Doom may top this, he has a fun design.."

So yeah, Dr Doom is in the works it seems, which I never saw/heard about before.

another edit: cool pic showing Venom as a boss which lists an affix for his stealable power. Here's a reddit link with some more tooltip pics if anyone cares http://www.reddit.com/r/marvelheroes/comments/2ekwfe/rogue_teasers_from_the_twitch_going_on_right_now/

I do think new heroes vastly out shining old ones is sort of becoming a problem.  Star Lord Mr Fantastic and Surfer are all extremely good, Surfer is probably the strongest character right now.  Rogue just might take that crown from him though.

Yeah, the last 3 have been amazing. Depending on her spirit management, she could surpass him though. I didn't think she'd be able to, but then I just saw some datamined powers...yeah, just yeah. There's potential for taking the top spot pretty easily, and with stronger survivability.

Not going to post the source here unless people want that, but I'm actually excited about this char enough to have her as my first pre-ordered hero.

Honestly the biggest problem with Rogue is going to be figuring out how to spend her skill points.  She's just going to be crazy fun.  I may not play another hero again!  Especially with X-23 being pushed back YET AGAIN :(

This is always a 'problem' in F2P games, as we've discussed elsewhere. The new stuff has to be better in some way shape or form so that your veterans will buy it. Yeah, you can bring it down a notch later, but new content is typically going to be > old and faded in order to drive sales.

While I tend to agree with that in general, I think it's much less of a problem here. The Invisible Woman and Black Widow are pretty recent releases and they're not that good. Then, even chars that were re-worked/released months ago - like Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Colossus - are still holding up strongly against recently released heroes. Even the last three were not great on release until they had some fixes/buffs to put them in the state they're in now (SS, SL, and MrF) which is why I remember a number of people I talk with were holding off on picking up newer chars.

The only way Gaz could be better about this is if they could do their re-works a bit faster, or at least give some quality of life changes and some damage increases on some heroes (Cyclops, Ghost Rider who is a recent release, SW, etc).

Costume affixes - How do they work?

I could swear the first time I did them they leveled up with me. I happened to swap to either Storm or Daredevil - my first 60s - and noticed whichever had really low costume affixes in addition to some terrible choices.
