It's 1,000 armor drives supposedly, and it was just said that the item will be upgraded to ilvl 61 and equippable at 58. Still, that thing is really nice and I'm glad it doesn't need to be farmed like hod/gotk/cuirass/spear

New Iron Man basically remedies what few issues I had with him before. It brings proper spirit regen at level 1 now instead of 30ish, streamlines the shield/spirit pool mechanics and a little more then doubles his passive health regen. Buffs on all his powers all around, DFA is comparable to Ms. Marvel's Crashdown strike finally. The only sad bit is I can't seem to find that melee damage reflect proc that used to be on his spirit/health regen passive that was removed and spread out amongst other things. It actually used to hit pretty dang hard. Oh well Fooling around with this some more, and DFA is not only comparable, it utterly outclasses Crashdown. Right around when my poorly geared Ironman was brutal striking DFA for over a million, is where I went, 'oh huh, fancy that'. Getting nerfed in the next patch

Armor incursion this weekend, with armor drives dropping from any mob. Not sure if it's random, or not, but they seemed to drop about as often as Eternity shards do.
Also, mystery code: ARMOR

I am having so much fun with Iron Man now, i thought he hardly needed a review in the first place but holy shit they knocked it out of the park anyways. There is literally no way to go wrong with him now, you can play him any way you want and he will kick ass. Punch things, shoot lasers, burn things, missile things right in their fucking face, hell do all of them at the same time. It all works, it is all fun.

Got bugged enough by people I know to actually try this over the weekend. Actually enjoyed it quite a bit, very polished, very bright and flashy and plays pretty well. I don't see it holding my interest long though, it's SO incredibly easy and I'm not seeing much content to hold you once you hit 60.
Tried Rocket as my first character, wasn't a huge fan of his play style (played him as straight DPS, not summoner). Got Ms. Marvel on my first random hero and have been liking her a LOT.

Yeah if you don't have at least a mild version of altitis you will be over it quick. Their ever increasing roster is their main draw, and they do that right.

Steam has some hero packs for 50% off. I actually find the 50% off packs worth it. Ones available are Wolverine, Loki, Cable, Gambit, and Spider Man for $10 with Hawkeye and Black Widow for $5.
Also, they really screwed up this event. I had over 900 drives stored from the previous event and still only have about 1300 now with the awful drop rates. It's only made worse with the slowed re-roll rate for the vendor to try to find an artifact with a good enough roll to buy

It's because they want to switch to recurring events instead of one offs. The mistake was putting several BiS items into the event structure. Additionally, it's a guaranteed path to a BiS item, unlike just about everything else. I wonder how people actually play this game. Are there really that many people sitting and farming at 60? I know I got excited about Squirrel Girl and did that for a bit, but then I hit that magical 175 splinters and was off to "Ooo, new shiny" land again. I think they really should do something for alts and and maybe prestige leveling. And these events are where that sort of thing should come in. It should be, "play the event" stock up on alt and leveling things. Things like artifacts, relics and insignias. Many of the current "builds" suck balls while leveling. For example, the Invisible Woman, I can tell she is going to be a beast once I hit 40 something and her spirit regen power has enough oomph to keep going, but right now in the mid 20s, I'm stuck using and spending points on crappy builders or just waiting for things to CD. There are a couple of artifacts that can help fix that problem, but it's luck of the draw on them. Events are a much better way. Make it so I can buy a couple of these alt items from the event and I'd be happy.

Takes me around 8 hours of playtime to hit 60 at this point, much less if there is an event and i use boosts. I am most certainly not done enjoying a new character in that short amount of time, finding good artifacts, leveling their legendary to max, making them cosmic and then raid ready, going on a few raids to see how they perform, collecting stacks of uniques in order to trade them in for uniques for my next char. Hell just finding a decent insignia takes weeks, thank god the cosmic doop event lasted so long or i'd have to add finding a cosmic medallion to the process.

What Threash said regarding playing at 60. Additionally, I did the same thing as you with picking random hero boxes until I settled on chars that I enjoyed playing at 60 more than I enjoyed leveling other characters I had unlocked and now I find spend more time on 60s. As for the event, even keeping in mind it is a recurring event doesn't help with how poorly this is done. Incredibly low drop rate of currency with very high costs for all of the event items on a game that it is common to have multiple heroes which could find these items as bis.

Yeah if you don't have at least a mild version of altitis you will be over it quick. Their ever increasing roster is their main draw, and they do that right. I played...I dunno a few months ago and picked Black Panther. Got into my teens and then fizzed out. I started playing again a week or so ago and I'm enjoying it more this round. I spent a little cash and bought Moonknight, because I actually used to read / like / collect his comics when the original runs came out. (Please fulfill my dreams and add Rom the Spaceknight though) He's fun to play, probably more so because I didn't realize how he was so high on the solo DPS scale. After I got into the mid 20's I got burned out on his punchy punch style and went back to Black Panther for some trap-mania. (I really dig MK's dialogue though) I have altitis in about every game I play so that is indeed coming into play here. I'm going to wait for a sale or use splinters and try another completely different hero. It's a good F2P game and a good 1-2 hour play every couple of nights for now. After the sad soft fart let down of WildStar it's a nice change of pace.

Jesus. I need to know what the fuck I'm doing wrong still. Should I jump up to Heroic at 25? The Xp didn't seem any better but maybe it is. Just taking Emma to 30 from 25 last night took me nearly as long as the first 25 levels.

If you want to level quickly, ignore the story. Do Xdefense until 20 and then once you turn 20 chase Legendary Quests and reroll anything that is going to take any time. Terminals and Midtown are obviously pretty fast and of the storyline ones, most aren't worth doing because they take too long, but there are some you learn are fairly quick. If you have the cash to keep rerolling, getting in a good midtown group and just doing midtown legendaries, you can knock them ludicrously fast. The other key is if you're not in a midtown group which relies on everyone killing everything, ignore anything you don't need.
Example: the Mr. Sinister mission says 5 barrels and 50 mutants, head for the boss and blow up five barrels and AOE the "easy" mutants until you rack up 50. Don't get stuck fighting blues or yellows. Don't AOE the psychos. Just burn through the quests.
As fast as it can be, most of the heroes I've tried are crap before 40 because they're missing a key ability or don't have the spirit to sustain good ones.

Yup MK once you hit 30 is hilarity vs bosses. He is not a mow minion type of champ he is a walk up to a boss and just punch his lights out insanely quickly type of champ.

Just taking Emma to 30 from 25 last night took me nearly as long as the first 25 levels. Right now my character screen says "Bonus exp 171% +0" and "Hero Synergy bonus exp 157%", this is without boosts. A level character would have 10% more from a pot of gold and 8-12% more from a moleman medallion as soon as they get to the low 30s. I also have 1032 omega points by now which certainly bumps up my killing power as soon as i hit 30.

Except you can't level a pot of gold and pass it off. I gave one to Emma at level 1 and it's only just hit tier 1. Tier 5 is a long, long way off for the +xp.
I'm at only 30% bonus from a singular 60 character. I'm currently just bouncing all my heros to 25 for the synergies, so that'll help. I should drag Cyc up to 60 for his 50 synergy and the additional 10% from another 60 but GOOOD he sucks so bad.

Ok yeah, this is definitely the wrong way to go about it and probably why leveling feels so slow to you. The synergy bonuses are extremely minor, leveling characters to 60 gives you a lot more than the synergy stuff. Your next two 60's are 20 and 15% more exp, that beats even leveling cyke.

Is there a site or resource that gives kind of a top-down on each character? "Moonknight is primarily a melee character with strong single target DPS skills" or "Doctor Strange is projectile based AOE type character (I guess?)" Anything like that?

Yeah they're minor but they add-up, and getting 7 more chars to 25 has taken less time than it took me to get Strange to 60. /shrug. Each char is taking me an evening or so to hit 25, which is 2.5-3 hours depending on how focused I am. Deciding to run Emma from 25 to 30 last night took me 2.5 hours with boosts. I should twitch this or something to keep track better, but I'm 40 next month and REALLY don't give a fuck other than seeing it as taking too long before I'll get bored or have something else to focus on.

For that spreadsheet, does Ghambit do something odd in the Holo-sim? I've seen him do some monstrous AoE numbers in there, on par with Luke Cage. Actually looking closer, he has Luke Cage listed as a C for AoE. So, I'm not so sure on the validity of that sheet in general.

I think the thing about Cage is that Cage Was Here is just so big. It hits beyond the screen. Everything else about him is terrible, but that is that good. If he has someone to keep him clear so he can maintain the channel spam, he can carry forever in those waves.

I have fun with cage he is not the best hero ever but still enjoyable. For real AOE moshing Scarlet witch, storm, dr strange are excellent. Rocket is really good at it as well once you get the bfg.

Not sure about Ghambit but Cage in Holo-sim is a bit special cause of the range of his AoE and the ability to duck around corners / hide behind walls / take advantage of elevation and still hit things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ziQlYKWBGs

This has come up before, but yeah, don't take that spreadsheet seriously. It's best to forget about its existence entirely imo. As for Luke Cage, Trippy posted the exact video I'm thinking of. Cage is, imo, in the top 3 for AoE heroes

Squirrel Girl Nut Facts
Some “Summoned Ally” stats now display on the Stats page for heroes. We’re looking to add some additional stats for future patches.
As another step to improve performance for players, Squirrel Girl's squirrels now hit for double damage, and the maximum number of squirrels that can be active at once has been halved. All of Squirrel Girl's squirrel-based mechanics, such as the amount of life each squirrel returns and the damage increase in Nutcracker, have been doubled. Additionally, we've improved some of the mechanics that summon squirrels to allow players to reach that coveted Squirrel cap in a more consistent and quicker manner: Squirrel Friends now has a 100% proc chance and a 0.25 second cooldown. This will make her ramp up time much more consistent. Squirrel Friends' active component now instantly fills your Squirrel bar, summoning all 15 at once. The cooldown has been raised to 15 seconds. Squirrel Saboteurs now summons 2 Squirrel Friends, up from 1. Squirrel Presents cooldown increased to 8 seconds, damage massively increased. Prepare for squirrel domination.

Not much of a change really, they are just trying to reduce the graphics load. The Squirrel Friends will be nice when rushing. I won't have to stop and build squirrels before the Sister Minister. I still wish Squirrel Sabs was more targeted.

OPERATION OMEGA We're introducing a new recurring event this week called: Operation Omega.
Operation Omega lasts all week and will grow each time it's brought back on a monthly basis.
OMEGA-LEVEL BUFFS Omega is the 24th and final number in the Greek alphabet. The ultimate letter.
To embrace the power of Omega, a very special server buff is in effect during Operation Omega.
The event begins with a 24% boost to Experience, Rare Item Find and Special Item Find.
As each day of Operation Omega the buff grows by another 24% for all three bonuses.
This will grow the server-side bonuses each day to 48%, 72%, 96%, 120%, 144%, 160% and 184%.
These are multiplicative server-side bonuses and compliment bonuses from items, synergies, etc.
OTHER OMEGA-LEVEL FEATURES Certain enemies throughout that game can appear with an Omega-Level Threat designation that increases their difficulty by 24% and loot by 240%.
During Operation Omega, the first time you complete a Shared Quest each day will reward double Omega Orb rewards.
Omega leveling is 24% faster during Operation Omega. This works well with the Omega-Level buffs to experience.
Agent Coulson offers a new mission during Operation Omega week. Each day, you can complete five or more waves in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Holo-Sim to receive a reward from him. This will help hone your skills to be prepared for Omega-Level threats.
SHIELD OMEGA ACCESS FILES During Operation Omega, players can earn up to 100 Omega Access Files each day.
Omega Access files are not random drops, they may be specifically earned:
10 Omega Access Files just for logging in each day.
30 Omega Access Files for completing Coulson’s training mission each day.
60 Omega Access Files for completing each Shared Quest each day.
This is potentially 800 Omega Access Files (this patch will be live for 8 days).
S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Dum Dum Dugan will exchange SHIELD Omega Access Files for:
Mysterious Blue Omega Box - 300 SHIELD Omega Access Files
Similar to the Mysterious Crimson Box, this will contain a random unique item that normally drops from a boss. The unique is guaranteed to have a challenge bonus. Omega Ghost Box - 50 Omega Access Files
This will contain a random item and potentially include one or five Omega orbs.
OTHER OMEGA-LEVEL FEATURES During the event, an enemy can drop a new artifact: The Omega Drive Boss drops with challenge bonus sound awesome, since there was no way to get them before.
