That link lead me to this one.  No confirmation on if these men are or are not related to Nerf.

The Alien abduction tractor beam failed at 10,000 feet.

That the driver survived is astounding.

Oh there's definitely problems with the distribution. Conversely, it's better than 'magic really heavy invisible unicorns'. ;)
Oh, true. But with the distribution of the problem, "really heavy invisible unicorns" actually makes more sense. It's not like the problem is just "people keep floating around in my living room" it's "Only virgins are floating around my living room, and there are really fucking heavy hoofprints all over my floor.".

Distribution is so even that either it's some weird ass property of the universe (dark matter, some funky zero-point energy side-effect) or someone's been fucking with reality.

I may be completely mistaken on this one, but the difference between the picture you posted and the pictures posted about is that one set of planes were ginormous jumbo jets while the others were very tiny prop planes. I think jet fuel may be a little more flamey than that used for prop engines. But you go right on and tilt at that windmill, Don.

Most general aviation aircraft burn high octane leaded gas, which vapourizes far more readily but is roughly as volatile as normal gas due to the lead content.  Jet aircraft burn what is effectively slightly more volatile diesel.  Before people decide to hurf their durf: diesel has a higher flash point, and a lower autoignition temperature than gasoline.  It's not at all inherently safer than gasoline.

What's even more astounding is how well the car looked after it got out of the shop, you could never even tell it was damaged!

Edit: Name an airplane with an 11 gallon fuel tank, I'll wait.  Ohhhhh, I see.

Yeh, I'm a smartass The Merlin GTS, fuel capacity: approx 11 gal.

As for the topic, was it Arthur C Clarke who said all those really big energy sources we see in the universe are alien civilisations experimenting with vacuum energy and failing? I hope the alternative energy division at BP doesn't look into this, we'll end up taking out our quadrant of the Milky Way and flood the rest of it with lethal radiation.
