Anyone else having trouble logging in right now? Can't connect to the game, and minecraft.net is giving me a 500 Servlet Exception.

So I was outside, cleaning up around my fort when a creeper falls out of a tree.  I happened to get trapped between a tree, the flowing water, and the fortress wall.  That was an interesting mess, let me tell you...  He could have blown up just about anywhere else and I'd have been okay with it, but he ruined a work of art.  I was sad and tried to rebuild it as best I could.
I'm imagining your face after that as such:

Minecraft Beta 1.3

* Implemented a new lighting engine with the help of MrMessiahs (can be turned off)
* Changed the options around, added a new “Graphics options” button
* Added beds. If all players in a map sleeps in a bed during night, the game immediately skips until morning
* Added three new half-size blocks
* Added Delay/Repeater redstone dust blocks
* Added whitelisting to the server. To use, enter “whitelist <cmd>” where cmd is “on”, “off”, “add <player>”, “remove <player>”, “list” or “reload”
* New save file format, old maps need to be converted (that might take a while..)
* It’s now possible to have more than five save slots, and to rename saves
* Scrollbars in both the texture pack list, and in the map selection screen
* Replaced the Mojang splash image to reflect the new logo colors
* .. and a bunch of bug fixes and tweaks!

You may also need to download the new client from the main site to be fully updated.

Looking forward to firing this up tonight when I get home.  I'm hoping it doesn't fuck over my hi res texture pack too badly.  If it does, back to the default, ah well.

Well, nice for the early game at least.  Those first 2 nights or so if you don't get lucky with an early coal spawn can be kind of boring.  Like, AFK sammich boring.

Oh thank you!  I had compiled the old DOKU into the new texture format, but was about to go and add all the missing tiles.  This will save me some work.

The new lighting is awesome and everything seems to be running a LOT smoother overall.  Not a lot of content, but very happy with the performance increase.

Also, they're developing for iProducts, woot!  Can't wait to play outside the home, too!

The recipe for charcoal fairly much fixed that issue.

I'm pretty sure they upped the drop rate of saplings from leaves. I punched down two trees and ended up with like 50+ saplings already.

The new lighting LOOKS awesome, but I am slowly becoming not a fan of it functionally.   I'm having a real hard time telling which squares are dark enough to accidentally spawn monsters.   I turned it off for now - thankfully the option to do that is available.

You should just have to restart the server and it'll do it automatically. It might take a while because the f13 map is big.

Seems to be a bug with the ones that split from the larger at the moment. You cant damage them and or they are client side only.

Yeah, that sounds really fun.  If only we had monsters turned on so we could all be eaten by invincible client-side slimes.   swamp poop

Actually the invincible slimes also don't hurt you, they just gum up the works basically.

Server is back up.

Anyone ever find the maze/dungeon that leads to the north road from my ruined fort (was going to be a motte&bailey, but I never finished it)?

This is a pic I took at some point around the Halloween update:

and this was me the morning after Halloween (it's a shitty phone pic, not pictured: terrible fucking hangover):

So I've heard that there is a mod/plugin that auto repairs tools... Is there any chance we could get that added? It's one of the big things making me not want to play, tbh.

Is Bukkit stable enough to use by somebody who doesn't want to keep fiddling with the server?
