I got really excited because I thought that said Bacons. Then I remembered watching the Yogscast videos about most of this; the Beacons would be a nice idea if the buffs they provided were global/character based, instead of range-limited.

So as some of you might be aware I use minecraft to destress, especially after school and my hour commute in retardland Tennessee.  Now that finals are over, I have decided to share my latest fancy.

Since no one has been logging on, I decided I'd go into creative mode and splurge in the river, basically dredging out waterways about 10 blocks.  I did an entire river section around a desert biome like this.

Then I decided to put a walkable layer underneath that, all this is dangerous since I haven't really lit anything up as monsters can't hurt me.  Eventually I'll fix that.

Well, I have this desert area surrounded by a neat lake, so I'll wall it off and do something with it I suppose.

And so I start digging out an area and putting in little flourishes...

And then I thought.  I'll build a huge garish tower.  Bitches love huge garish towers!

And then, glass walkways!  Yes!  Finals are coming up!

The fuck I care about Sylow's theorem?  I need to finish off my desert city?  Uniform Boundedness Theorem?  Pretty rectangular buildings!

And, done!

That's insane. Even on creative mode, how do you dig all that out?

One click at a time Xan.  And Sky, I went creative because no one was logging on.

Imagine what you could make if you started knitting. Knitting's lately been my minecraft substitute.  Problem with knitting is that one can only wear so many scarves and hats and mitts.

You should try it, Bz!  You can buy a couple of sheep, shave them, spin their fleece and knit yourself a sweater.

My mother is the knitter/spinner/etc in the family.  I just show her something I want and she knits it.  I have a beard hat.  I used to have a trench coat she knit in every color imaginable (I lost that in storage).  But I do keep a spool of heavy thread which i hand crochet when I'm about town and waiting on people.  It's cathartic.

Yes. It's that same zen thing that minecraft gives.

I think he means the Gaming Graveyard.  There is a miniatures thread in the Digital Pen and Paper forum down there.  Lots of good work too.

Wow, nice job! Very fine work.  What do you do with these when you're done painting them?

These are for tabletop games?

I put em in a padded box. Eventually I'll put up a display shelf for the better ones, and the ones of importance to me (my first one, my first contest winner, etc).

After the holidays I'm planning on starting my first project for an actual game; painting up the teams for Blood Bowl. My buddy who comes over to watch football wants to play BB (and hopefully Dreadball) in the off-season. So I'm going to paint up the orc team with Chicago Bears colors per his request.

Oh, wait! The Firebrand Drone will be used when the first expansion for Sedition Wars comes out.

Thanks for the kind words. I also blog stuff where you can see the WIPs (work-in-progress).

Seemed to best place to ask this:

what do you all use for MC world corruption issues? I've got this one chunk that just recorrupts and I can't figure it out. Neither VoidChunk nor MC Edit 1.5 (the last with "repair region" afaik) see anything wrong. And yet every time something is put there, within 24 yours it goes corrupt (big empty square within a default ground plane, which at least is better than the infinite height/depth of corrupted chunks of old).

Easy answer is to delete chunk, let it repop, and not build anything there. Except in that region of my world, that's the third chunk to do this. I suppose I could save the buildings as a schematic, delete the entire region, let it repop, and then import the schematics.

But before I did that, I figured someone here has got a lot more experience doing this and may have an easy(ier) trick.

Yeah, I must say the use of distance etc and the player's movement to make it f.ex look like someone were looking at them as they rode upwards was pretty well done, especially given the tools with which they were given.

Speaking of which, just as Elena and I were wondering 'hey, is that it?' we broke into an abandoned haunted Spider mine.  It's kinda awesome.

F13 has a server running 1.4.6 vanilla and Bloodworth is running a modded server with his buds. X and I are playing on BW's right now, it's DivineRPG and has a few nice things going.

I'm trying to get enough iron for my first rail project and also trying to work around the increased spawn rules. 1.5 would keep them off the tracks, I think. But you might get shot by a caveclops.

It is pretty likely my buddy and I are going to fire up a small server some time soon. It will be relatively lightly modded- DivineRPG, BiomesOPlenty, some ore mod that is not the abortion that Metallurgy is, and maybe Infernalmobs.

I am not a fan of the industrialization stuff. I like a closer to vanilla experience.

My only problem with Vanilla is that once you've "figured it out" there is little gameplay, at which point you are just playing creative mode with more time sinks hammering away at blocks to move around.   Maybe Vanilla hardcore would be fun though, I haven't really tried it.

I'm not a fan of cutting down trees. All the mod does is make minecraft trees act like Terraria trees - cut down one block and the whole thing comes down.

Even beyond my personal dislike of cutting down trees in minecraft (ironic in itself), there's always those big oak trees that you can never find all the stupid branches and you're left with a floating tree afro. Also, jungle biomes.

Divine RPG is awesome.
