I've been interested in giving this one a try. I think it's just been released (or is about to be). Looks like it has a lot of potential, but it could also be a load of junk in actuality.

Anyone had any firsthand impressions of it?

GameSpot says it's out 8 December so probably nothing yet.

The official website reads like Assassin's Creed - With Guns!  Ohhhhh, I see. I'll keep an eye out but not holding my breath on it being worthwhile.

From the gameplay trailers it looks like GTA IV with more shooting and less driving.  Which is an impressive feat to pull off.   awesome, for real

Gamingheaven doesn't have a Story section for their score.

Yea, that's right, I skipped to the score. WHAT OF IT.

Edit: Neither does IGN. Surprised I haven't noticed this before.

Doesn't seem worth getting for full price.

Only way to see beeg freench teeteez is to purchase it at full price.

I think it's fucking brilliant. It allows for R-Rated content and if kids manage to see it, you only have who bought the game to blame because it's normally locked unless parents don't do their due diligence.

...because mass killing is ok for kids while teeteez is bad?

In this country, yes.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

I got this for Play-Asia's full price. Which is close to full price to you Americans, but more like half price to us Australians!  awesome, for real Had a play with it, and it seems ok, 3 missions in, but I decided to finish my playthrough of Prototype before getting too distracted by it.

Skip most of the side mission stuff in this game otherwise you'll get bored very fast.

I've actually been enjoying the side mission sabotage stuff. Then again, during weekday/workdays I don't get to play consoles really, I'm lucky to have 3-4 rounds of a Battlefield game before turning it off. I've been sitting myself down on the weekend, turning the other TV onto documentaries and such, and then going around making explosions while watching the docos....

I can see passive TV making that work. I was just playing the game straight up and it eventually got really dull. It had something to it though and it's sad that it was Pandemics last game.
