One detailed character model, lots of detailed environments, really, really REALLY shitty narration...

That looked like it was the production values of a normal Blizzard cinematic (without interesting characters) with the content and planning of a patch trailer. I think while Blizzard has multiple concurrent projects that require Cinematics resources, the individual cinematics for each game are going to suffer.

Deathwing looked great in the cinematic, but I had to watch the thing on mute I was cringing so hard.

I don't see why anyone cares about opening cinematics.  They are just not important, especially in a MMO.

Okay, so now that Blizzard has shown the opening cinematic ahead of Blizzcon, it seems like they're kind either clearing the slate for something, or it's going to be completely underwhelming for their opening ceremony.

And yeah, that cinematic was boring as hell.

It's official: Deathwing has Asperger's.

I liked it better than the Lich King one certainly. The tidal wave shots were nifty.

I'd almost rather have two extra bank slots. I'm at my max of armor sets I can manage to store...

It depressed me greatly that I instantly recognized WoW landmarks like I would the Eiffel Tower or god damn Big Ben.

Nope.

Also, Metzen didn't voice Deathwing.

Glad I didn't go. Man I would be furious if I had bothered travelling down there this weekend. I got offered tickets if I footed the airfare bill, but I decided to head to the UGA-Kentucky game instead.

I hope they were lying.  That'd be a colossal let-down if so.

I don't raelly care so much about the "big" announcements to be honest, the Diablo 3 panel was pretty interesting, for instance.

Yeah they were pretty good.  The Q&A session, however, was painful.  So many awkward people.

And then the Thrall/ Jaina question.  awesome, for real

I'm watching the Live Raid right now and it's hilarious watching Paragon wipe to buffed Molten Core bosses.  To be fair, they're fighting 4 at once but they're missing all the mechanics.   It's Shazz, Geddon, Mag and Gehennas.   The first two wipes were because nobody was watching for Living Bomb and BLAMMO, 70% of the raid died.   Ahh, the good old days.

Bah. Thats a bummer, it was a pretty high quality stream. Watched the whole WoW raid on it, which was pretty sweet. Saw Deathwing destroy Ogrimmar.

He is married to Nikki Cox, he doesn't have to worry so much about getting the chicks by looking good anymore. I mean, she was engaged to Bobcat Goldthwait at one time.

Whoever keeps giving Jay Mohr scripts for Blizzcon should just stop. He is far better when improvising on the spot.

I'm just glad to see him back. He was thinking of quitting after last year.

I am around the convention floor if anyone wants to meet up. Just give a time and place!

Yeah, I'm guessing you haven't seen a recent picture of Ms. Cox.  Bobcat came out on the better end of that deal in the end.

Yeah, it was pretty cool last year when they announced Cataclysm and the crowd went nuts, but the big thing for me is going to the panels, I really enjoy those.

Well, that and playing the Diablo 3 demo.
