Quote
A Fort Collins mother is under arrest accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy she met through a common interest in "furry" gatherings.According to the arrest affidavit, 45-year-old Richael Michels was considered to be a role model for the 16-year-old boy, but allegedly was having sex with him the entire time.
The initial tip apparently came from her husband, who was upset about her growing interest in Furries

I can't stop laughing at this shit. I've heard forum jokes about them but man, to see it on news is  awesome, for real

Can't you all see that they are trying to convert our children? Next they'll be wanting to marry!

... what's that? They can marry if they are man and women, even if dressed in respective squirrel and rabbit costumes? why so serious?

Furries wear suits that make them look like stuffed animals.  Plushies just need the stuffed animals.

Honestly, a few hours after posting that a friend of mine who's basically never heard of the internet told me about the "weird guys in animal costumes" that were hanging out down the street from his office.  Anthrocon apparently came back to Pittsburgh again.

I got dragged to a goth club on Sunday, I actually had quite a bit of fun throwing back $1.50 vodka+soda's and laughing at people, but this guy creeped me the fuck out.  He would just stand on the edge of the dancefloor with his arms crossed, staring at the people dancing.  Fortunately, I didn't get quite drunk enough and my date was able to talk me out of beating him for the lulz, I don't even know how I'd explain that to a judge.

Something needs to be done about the furries. Something pointy and explosive.

I think for the first time ever, Nerf and I are in total agreement.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

You know what would be entertaining? Abducting a bunch of furries from a convention, driving out into the countryside and releasing them into the wild.

Only if you could find a bunch of people who liked to wear big Elmer Fudd heads and who had actual guns to release them next to.

Wasn't that the plot of a CSI episode?

Fursuiters wear the suits.  They're a deeper degree of furry, like the cosplayers are to the anime nerds and people who wear Star Trek uniforms in daily life are to the trekkies.  The average furries might wear a fake tail, in the same way that an average anime nerd might wear a Naruto headband, but it's a special degree of crazy to go for a full costume.

I think its crazy to run around with a fake tail as well. But your mileage may vary.

I always thought Furries were a crazy, but generally laid back and harmless bunch of people. Hell, if I looked like that woman I certainly would wear a mask when sexing up somebody as well.

I get that. Running around in a normal social environment like that is indeed strange. I would be unnerved as well. Can't trust somebody you can't look into the eyes. Fucking sunglass-wearing freaks!  awesome, for real
