I can't remember where I heard it but I have heard that KO'd people can still fight in Fort battles.
True, if you get knocked out during a fort fight, the normal 48 hour time kicks in, but you can participate in fort battle even when you are knocked out.

They can participate if in KO, but if timed well they may be dangerously low on health or be far enough away they decide not to participate.

Well, how fast does a fort battle start once someone initiate it? (Paid 10k) If it's less than 6 hours, then it's really possible to quickly assault them while they're half HP or below. If not, a lot can just rush to the barracks and rest up.

24 hours. As a defender you can still knock out or damage several attackers and make the fight, even sleep in the fort. As an attacker you can still injure or KO people, it is simply a bit more involved.
As a defender you can send a couple premium duelers on best horses, raid the enemy till they are around half health and have enough time to get back to fort +3 hours. Knocked out enemies that come back to the fight will be very weak and not likely to make the trip. Injured foes get focused fire first when the fort battle starts.
Attackers can use adventurers to pick off the weakest targets or soften up various people and sleep a couple hours for free in a four star hotel.
Raw numbers can make a big difference in fort fights. Those 1600 hp sponges rely on all their much softer targets to be useful. Gun down the mid range folks or anyone who appears weakened.
Obviously, pre fort fight raids are not useful against widely dispersed enemies. How lucky we are that our foes are bunched together.

Is anyone else following through with their world 9 newbies? I just got my guy to level 10 and took the Adventurer class.

Yeah I'm getting doubtful about it myself. The only reason I've lasted so long on world 8 is having all the F13ers around plus the wonderful enemies we've made.

There's a fortbattle 30 minutes West of us, I signed up to defend so I could do some work uninterrupted for the next six hours but as it turns out it's a covert Eagles attack. This would give them a very nice vantage point to hit us from so despite the fact I'll be fighting alongside the furry munchkinheads Dusty and Smitten from -FoM- it mightn't be a bad idea.

I've upgraded Right, Quantrillo, and Spamwise to founder. I'm going to need to do some shopping in a day or two. Can I get confirmation on the poncho? And does anyone know where the rest of the items are. I've been silver mining and have money that needs spending. I want to start playing whack-a-mole with people's faces.

I suppose, in a meta sort of way. The full set is +9 strength and 17 vigor. So the vigor COULD be better. And the goddamn hat has shooting instead of vigor. That said - it gives faster access to drilling oil (83/25/20 - the third best money job), smuggling (64/45/83 - the sixth best luck job, a hair away from 4th, but with higher money than some of the top ones), and transporting ammunition (how you get dynamite for some fucking quest).
But yea, it's mostly the set for melee fighters. Nowhere near as good as the sets for people who shoot shit with a gun (like a pussy), though.
Edit: Also, the whole set only requires level 30.

An Eagle already did yesterday, so I'm immune. (edit) BTW, I've realized that you can very easily spy on the enemy's positions by putting a mole on the opposite side. I think that's why those FoM folks like "super spy" were on our side in our fort battle. I see that same guy on the attacker's side now. And speaking of Tolstoy, BC folks defending this fort may be interested to know that the attackers are all spread out in front.

you tell 'em I'm coming... and hell's coming with me, you hear?... HELL'S COMING WITH ME
etc.
Actually, I have a shitty fort gun, so I'll probably mostly just hide and pew pew.

For as terrible as I was in our last battle defending, this time I was #2 overall damage inflicted and #1 ok KOs. Strange.
Too bad we were overwhelmed. I wonder how much thier lack of fort strength played a part in the loss.

I got this from prinston of Amnesia: hi righ can u promise to help us defend our fort its under attack and we need help I f u dont know me ask Aez from your town he knows me. and please tell your town to defend. The fort in question is Fort ACT, owned by Amnesia and a small town called The Middle of Nowhere which is likely their spin-off. Amnesia's ally list: Middle Of Nowhere Star River Star Creek Star Trail Themiscyra The Shores of Avalon That last one would be in the Avalon Alliance and Vampire Alliance too. Judging by the people there and their front page, the attacker is LN Sovereign Force: A CALL TO THE -LN- GROUP, When we stand to together and fight at Fort act.
