FoAD is okay, although I still like the idea of helping their targeting by adding FoE (Fellowship of Enemies) to the name. I think we should buddy up with a few other true local indies for our fort though. |

Speaking about forts, are there any news about the mechanics involved in fort fighting ?
I am almost at the top of the job food chain (Bounts Hunting fod mad $$$) and will then start to distribute more points in duel skills.

On the forums I read something about defending soldiers being more usefull than offensive geared/skilled characters ?

Probably less so when they remove the soldier's Tactics bonus, eh?  Speaking of, can someone remind me what they were going to change it to so I can begin speccing accordingly? |

Damn man, you must be popular. I was just messing around in another Copper town a few hours ago (I play during asian times) and rotated duels with 4 guys twice back-to-back before getting KO'ed. I kinda regret having to wait for the 2 days timer now, how do I check my duel motivation anyway? I realized I'm getting less and less XP after the 4th duel or so. |

Funny shit, I never used the saloon to duel. Been clicking on town hall and residents to browse through the menus. Thanks for info. |

I noticed that I did three or four duels and my motivation was already way down at 80%.  How much of an impact does that really have? |

I can't tell. I seem to be pwning the 4 dudes I was rotating just fine. Oh doesn't impact anything but EXP. so fuck'em up IMO. With each duel the motivation goes down by 3 points. A lower motivation means that less experience points are received. With a motivation of 50% the winner only receives half of the calculated points. It is always your own motivation that counts even if the defender wins. The motivation automatically goes up by 10 points per day. This is awesome, I was KO'ed like 12 hours ago and my motivation's at 80%. In 36 hours I should have around 90%+ to strike again. ^_^ |

My motivation goes up 14 a day cause I picked dueller class, I've been 0 motivation duelling a lot so I have like 211 or so wins but not much exp to show for it. |

Yeah, confusing as heck. There's now special weapons for forts. You can't use the weapons you have equipped on the left slot to fight in fort battles, instead you must purchase special fortress guns and equip in on your character right weapon slot for it to take effect.
What stats will affect it, I don't know. But at least it'll make the game slightly more interesting than queuing duels or jobs while alternating hotel rests.

It means that 1 town can attack you and your town (and fort members) can defend.  Meanwhile the uninvolved 6,897,845,457,480,758,456,894 others can zerg the piss out of you.
To put it another way, the mechanics encourage blobbing.  Never do that.

Thanks for the update, few points I noted:
First-come-first served for the construction, so we probably want to scout out the locations when world 1 goes live and park at the nearest job to them with full energy over the weekend before 1.20 goes live on world 8

Towns can collaborate on forts, so there's going to be a significant zerg element. 128 player cap on battle participants seems grossly open to abuse, unless attackers and defenders get separate caps.

Constructing a fort is not cheap, but nor is the cost to declare war on an existing fort. Given the requirement for new weapons and such, building a fort first seems preferable to trying to take one that someone else has built.

Dodging, Hiding, Aim and Leadership seem to be the only skills that matter in fort fights.

Someone diplomatic should  find us a couple of friends or we won't be able to compete.
I vote for family project and the star river crowd - always had good experience with them.

Since jobs are all in the same place on different worlds it is a safe bet forts will be as well.  Large fort for us will be about dead center on the map.  Between Cassis and the abandoned town Tabriz.

I don't know that we're going to be able to compete even with friends. Bat Country is down to less than 20 active members. I suspect we're doing the get bored and go away Bat Country thing that's happened in every game except EVE. |

We have 20 members that will probably actually show up when shit hits the fan. I suspect a lot of towns that are maxxed out don't have as many players who are actually invested in their town. |
