Tailor 9 rocks. It's got a major piece I need and two other huge pieces. Good work all.

I thought it was a pretty sucky 'roll' to be honest. The other two leather hats are more useful for not substantially higher cost, the grey boots are only good by dint of being 'cheap' - but not so cheap you wouldn't rather save for the black boots, the Indian set is just terrible - if you're going for those jobs, you'll have them way before you get to level 55. For me it could only have been worse if we'd rolled the Indian headdress instead of the black hat.
The black leather jacket is seriously nice though.
It'll be almost impossible to get a bad roll on tailor 10 though. Black & grey coats, black & grey stetsons and brown & grey boots would be the only way to call tailor 10 a bad roll, IMO. Have I just called it? :)

Dunno. I've had my eye on grey boots/coat for a long time because they fill spots I need. Oh well.

Doesn't the additional points you have towards any given job increase the wage/exp and product amounts?

Yes, but the increases usually pale in comparison to what you'd be getting if you did a higher level job that you were less qualified for. Try shining shoes at +200 labor points if you don't believe me.

Boom! you lose 320 health points
Transporting ammunition with low labor points is not for the timid. Still, at least I can do it now. And getting some cashflow to buy nice things.

Try shining shoes at +200 labor points if you don't believe me. I really couldn't discern any difference until i had 200 points in a medium level job. The lower level ones i went back to complete for quests didn't seem any better. I was not 100% certain it had any effect since the motivation and luck could account for the difference.

I think it's more or less dependent on the EXP & Income rating on jobs rather than labor points. Labor points allows you to earn more money on top of the basic pay also it lowers the chances of injuring yourselves while working. It has nothing to do with the chances of getting product or improving the job's luck.

Bringing in more points raises the wages, it lets you find better items and it lowers the risk to hurt yourself badly. So i guess it does impact luck.

Not sure where you read that from I just do a mouse over on the total labor points on job screen and they gave a basic text saying it gives more money and lowers the risk of injury.

That is interesting. They seem contradictory to each other. And this game should really support item trading, at least there would be cash flowing from player to player. It doesn't feel right having to work on those lowbie jobs when the quests demands their products. (Corns, beans, etc) I should at least be able to pay some dollars for beginners to deliver me some. We both can profit from it: They earn more $ & I save time. Hell, even a courier job that make far-off purchase for you would definitely be useful.

If you go to http://www.thewestinsider.com/ and set up a bookmark as they suggest, you can click on that any time you want to see how much XP/hr and money/hr you'll get (on average, since everything is subject to a 'dice roll') based on your current maximum labour points in any job. You can type in your current motivation and change the 'weighting' to see what the best job is for you at a given time.

It seems like this game should have many more levels for buildings allowing players access to all materials in a single town over a long time period. This would eliminate multi town guilds and people dropping and adding towns as a mechanic. I would think that forming one, all inclusive town would be a nice goal for larger guilds and limit the gaming of the system that currently exists.
I realize that they wanted players to visit other towns as a mechanic, but all the current system does is to encourage large guilds to level many towns at once. Seems it would be more straightforward to just build a single town to a larger inventory size. Want more items in yoru store? Keep leveling the buildings.

Speaking of levelling towns, I got my wife to start playing builder for Trammel. She's something like half my level and already gets twice the construction points I would get, it's not fair :P At least now I can start throwing points towards better xp jobs.
Although she's maybe one skill point away from building railroads, at 40-some-odd percent xp. So she'll probably outdo me there too.

Alternatively they could tie the products in your store to products acquired through jobs town-members do, or some other form of resource system. Still, for a simple system it's really not half-bad.

The game is begging for a trading system between towns.

It begs for many things. The ability to market goods you find for one. Setting discount rates for other towns would be another.

I didn't mean to complain. For what it is, I'm really enjoying this game. Could it be better? Sure. Still, I'm enjoying the diversion.

How about the ability to see which towns are selling items you need to buy for a quest instead of needing to meticulously click on every town in the game looking for the place that sells the Precise Sling Shot? (No, I haven't found it yet)

The Beastro (1 quadrant up, center of the map) has it as well. Though west-stat's is pretty good at answering exactly this question.

Indeed - the difference between the recharge rate on a level 5 hotel and whatever you can afford elsewhere is so significant, you might as well make the walk as soon as you are low on energy today.
