I have been abusing them, but I do not think they are worth a concerted focus.  Mostly newbies and even smaller shops than we have.  They may try to bow out before long.

I've been duelled by a fair few New Avalon folks... they're not exactly the most lethal fighting force I've ever seen.

Yeah, they've been wailing on me for the last couple days, and I'd like to return the favor. They haven't hurt me much, but I'm all about prairie justice; do as to others as they do unto you.

New Avalon is fair. I'm almost 100% certain at this point that Coppers informed them that we were going to attack them and so they are on the offensive towards us.

I just dropped town because my immunity is going to wear of and I am 9 hours away from BC or CC.

I am gonna need 2 invites in 8 and 10 hours. One to drop my cash in the bank and the other to get to CC savely.

Looks like Cool1's stripped of gear and de-towned. Interesting.

Anyway, I'm killing a few turkeys before napping in Springs as my 48 comes up. I plan on giving them the what-for.

If I've done my math right, and I think I have, I've just queued myself up to do some low-paying work and then land in CS's hotel exactly 9 minutes after my immunity is up.   awesome, for real  That should provoke some angry telegrams.

Ahahah I was kinda tired after work. Logged in and picked up a quest to deliver letter at level 11. Then clicked on duel option with npc. Hmmm nothing happened. I clicked again and again and again. Till I realized I was at 0 Energy and $0 from $350 rofl.  why so serious? Turns out they dont bother showing the duel scene if you lost the fight with NPC.

That never happened to me. I am sure there is SOME kind of feedback. A message like "you lost" pops up for me when I lose an NPC duel. But this has happened to several people so I am a bit anal about refreshing the browser window during duelling.

Yea it does.

If you don't get any feedback re-arrange your duel screen and try again.

My immunity is up in less than an hour. I'm travelling to Copper Springs but I might not make it in time.

There is NO feedback, unless you click the report window.

This happened to me as well - I lost $250 (my mule money) while I was out of town.

Duels really ought to force a refresh of the page.

So... what do you do with your money before joining a town?  Is there any safe place to store it?

You store it on yourself, I guess, but you don't do any jobs that'll kill you.

Pretty much.

There really is nothing stopping us from doing the following:

1. Leave town unless you're depositing money or need town services
2. Workers only build after joining town and getting knocked out
3. Get invited by one person who stays in town.

There are no ongoing benefits to being a party of a town aside from the free hotel space.

I think the biggest improvement this game could use is forcing people to target Soldiers, Duelers, Adventurers, then Workers, in that order, if they are trying to attack a town. That way workers are protected if you have strong soldiers. But if everyone gets knocked down, then workers are fair game.

Then people would stop bitching about "OH HE ATTACKED MY BUILDERS."

Agreed. Currently I'm just working on quests with L12 Adventurer after a near rage-quit-inducing bankruptcy. There's not much incentive to join a town if you're not really into combat or already having Free Level 2 hotel rooms perks. I'll try to help out once I kit myself with a mule. I'm at 90 bucks at the moment  why so serious?

Edit: How do I re-spec? Is it quest only?

If you deposit money into a personal bank account and leave town, what happens to that cash, anyone know?

The 'Pure' nonsense is comical.  Spend all your points on a single attribute and skill.  Put on rocket skates and hopscotch through a progression job system.

At level 10 with nothing but dex and setting traps trained you will be doing river fishing and beaver hunting.  By level 15 you are almost at hunting wolves.  Trading may be worse (trading at level 10) and nearly silver mining by 15.  With proper shopping you can be trading with Indians by level 15.  I have not figured out why they structured the job system the way they did.

Money in the bank when you quit a town goes onto your person.

Duh. But I was in mid-transition to Copper Springs due to getting a late start today.
