If you optimize your character you can easily pass people who started way before you. Dueling being the fastest. And allocating skills for a certain path of jobs being the next.

Would it be worth it to just skip the quests and spam points to do those 9-15 exp jobs? I really hate these 'collect X product' quests.

Dueling will raise your dueling level but not your base character level. Jobs are a surefire way to raise character power while duels are not guaranteed.  Part of the reason we are hitting the Coppers back hard now is that we're outstripping them in levels and got a good weapon to fight back with.

Some of the quest rewards are pretty sweet (big hunks of XP/cash, nice items that boost your stats, etc).  But you can always focus your efforts on unlocking high XP jobs and take the quests when you unlock the quest jobs incidentally rather than working toward them specifically.

The problem is that those quests branch off into others. Ive gotten half of my levels from dueling so i haven't taken the time to figure out the path of least resistance. I linked a website earlier in this thread that has basically all the info in the game. Every job/quest and their requirements. If you chart your path you will be doing jobs that have 25%+ exp, money. And if your an adventurer you will make ass loads of cash. The later quest lines involve TONS of crap you have to complete.

Yeah, this Lv. 30 quest which I'm just finishing is giving me 1600 XP, 4 skill points, but I had to collect 3 - 9 of items from Lv. 1 jobs.

Started this up, character name is Boondoggle. Currently mooching my way job by job across the map to Bat Country. I have a few questions, sorry if they've been asked before.

1) When I level up, should I save my skill points?
2) I have a bunch of tobacco, sugar, cotton and such; what do I do with this?

Cheers.

In the beginning, save your skill points to do the jobs you need to do with quests. After that, depending on what you do, you'll want to put skill points into areas that benefit your profession, like Aim for Duelers / Soldiers.

All those extra resources, if they aren't being used for quests, can be sold in town for cash.

Best to hold on to them for future quest uses. And pay attention to how much exp job gives early on. If a quest objective just tells you 'hit level 2' it's best to hit those 3-5 exp jobs instead of 'fishing on the stream' like I did for 2 hours before realizing it gives 0 EXP.  why so serious?

The best job I can do gives 4% XP, what does that mean?

Just gives a vague metric of how much exp it will provide. It wont be 4% of your level or anything.

Damn, hit a black hole of content at Lv. 32. I'm a few skill points shy of doing most of the stuff I need to do.

To the High EXP Jobs!

Also it seems product % check works on half an hour basis isn't it?
Most of the time I just do a rough estimate depending on the amount of product required and the % of acquiring the product.
Eg. If I need 2 Grains and the chance to get it is 50% I'd just queue my char up for 2 hours work if I wanted to do it before going to sleep.
4 tries at 50% = at least 2 - max of 4
2 tries at 50% = at least 1 - max of 2 etc. So if I'm playing it by the noon and have the time to check back every hour, I'd just queue it for an hour.

Edit: Which is why I'm not doing that retarded 'fetch me a 20% drop chance feather' quest for that indian. why so serious?

God that quest pissed me off.  It took me way longer than it should have to get that feather.  Although the XP rewards in that chain are pretty decent, and the final reward is +4 skill points and a few days of a premium perk.

Later on there's a quest to get a 2% drop chance item, which is even more of a pain in the ass, but the reward is a big pile of XP and a fucking awesome hat.

Also, I'm pretty sure noob man and noob man2 are related.

Perhaps somebody ought to tell the hall monitor who runs Monmouth (one of Copper's allies). Apparently he's our server's self-appointed policeman:

Statistically it should have taken you 50 hours, or 33 if you had the premium bonus, so you came out ahead.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I'm making more experience from Coppers dueling me who have a duel level equal with my own but a character level 10 less than my own than I am from doing jobs. It's invigorating. I've won everybody at least once against most everyone who's challenged me since we got Gunsmith 5.

Hey, is it still possible to make new characters on world 8?

Yeah, but I don't really want to be a group of people that need multiple characters to get ahead.

Im the exact opposite. Got my duel level so high that everyone can now rape me. Yet am still 5 levels away from the good gun.  Heartbreak

Not my thought; Prospero was having trouble making an account and I was wondering if they'd locked it off.  Cleared up now though.

We don't have Sheriffs. But we do have Terminators.

I mean, they sent one back to the Wild West in the Sarah Connor Chronicles, right?
