The southwest and northeast of NJ are suburbs of Philly and NYC, and crowded as fuck. The southeast (Pineys) is quite pleasant farmland primarily, though the beaches get inundated with tourists in the summer. The northwest is fairly rural, and quiet. These fuckers are from Phillipsburg, a horrible buboe of a city in the northwest part. Even back in the 80s it had wanna-be gangbangers, drug dealers, and white supremecists all fighting over who could the biggest waste of flesh.
I was in the National Guard there, we got special riot control training each year.

I would actually draw that line more diagonally (NW to SE), and I'm not just saying that because my wife is from Jackson, it is actually pretty nice there. It takes a little while longer along the coastline for it to turn piney.
