There's more than that. Also, you should see the stuff that's coming on the disc that's made with the song generator by Neversoft. Can you say, 'Fur Elise?' Whole buncha classical shit. Wouldn't know anything about that though.

Also, I think we already have 2 threads about this.  why so serious?

How sad is it that this is the only thing making me contemplate buying (sans instruments, of course) Guitar Hero World Tour?

Fuck Blink 182, I could be rocking out to the 9th Symphony or throwing down some Wagner.

I'm just thinking of some heavier classical pieces that would be fun to play with a plastic guitar.  So far I've come up with Mahler, Berlioz, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Wagner.  Sorry, but Bach and Mozart are just too tinkly.  I want guys in wigs who brought the thunder.   awesome, for real

I realize it's a starter list, but so far for me at least RB2's songlist dominates.

Some good songs on this one (and some "man, I might buy it just for that"), but generally speaking so far not completely impressed :(

Yep, based on that list, I'll likely be saving my $200.  Fact is, I'd only buy it to play with my wife and most the tracks listed she won't like.  Need some 80's in there, not just 2nd rate tunes.

Oh, cool.  I can play Fur Elise on the piano, now I can totally pull a Sky and derail every GH thread into how you all will be much happier if you spend a year or two banging away at a keyboard and learning to read sheet music.

Looks like I can buy the rock band disc only edition so I don't have to deal with their subpar shitass instruments.

You're going to jump me for this for sure--but any rumors of compatibility on XBox, specifically for GH4/RB 2? I'd be willing to buy GH$ software only for the soundtrack, but doubtful I'll buy the whole shebang.

Tuesday 19th August/...August 19, 2008 – Known for their out-of-control riffs, fast paced songs and twin guitar solos, DragonForce will ascend the virtual stage once again to unleash “Heroes of Our Time” – the debut single off their new album Ultra Beatdown – in a three-song track pack for Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock. Hmmm, ot sure what to think about this Dragon Force stuff. ON one hand it is cool, on the other hand I can never beat these songs nor will I ever put the time into getting good enough to beat said songs, so they are almost useless to me. I need to be bring myself to play songs I can't beat on expert, down to hard... NEVER! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS

I'm actually more excited about Operation Ground and Pound.... Ohhhhh, I see.

Unfortunately, bringing some of these songs down to hard makes them way too easy. As for the dragonforce song, honestly, these songs are going to be pretty goddamn easy with the touch sensitive part of the new guitar. In fact, I think that'll change EVERYTHING.

Way to easy is subjective. It took me a lot of practice to even 3-star TTFATF and Raining blood on medium and I can't even imagine how I should ever be able to beat them on hard let alone on expert.

Oh, absolutely. Mostly that was a response to Hammer. Maybe a handful of other people on the board. I didn't expect that to apply to everyone or even the majority. More a minority of a minority.

Aha, Mars Volta - “L'Via L'Viaquez”, I was thinking this should be on GH but the song is 11 minutes long.  And sucks after the first couple minutes.

I have mixed feelings about that list. A lot of greatness but also a lot of crap. I mean La Bamba? Come On!

Also a lot of the "Select lame songs by great bands just because the songs were popular" Pull me under for example. I also sincerely cannot understand the love for american pseudo kiddie style metal a la Rise Against or Posers like Linkin Park.

Well I will buy it for the three Tool songs alone.

I'd just wish they wouldn't always go for the popular songs. Those are not always the best songs of a band and worse not even the most fun to play.

Take Bon Jovi's Livin' on a prayer for example. It is by far the most famous song of Bon Jovi, but I already cringe at the thought of having to play it because it is the kind of song that is fun the first time, tiresome the second and gets on your nerves after that.

A lot of popular songs in the last Guitar Hero installments suffered from that. If I have to play Kiss's  Rock-n-Roll All Night one more time I'll probably kill a puppy.

Pull me under is another candidate. It is the most popular Dream Theater song, but the worst one on 'Images and Words' and I usually skip it because I cannot even stand to listen to it any longer.

The same goes for Are you gonna go my way.

And since it is no Piano Hero, I'll never see Deine Lakaien in there ;)
