If I wasn't about to leave I would start posting a ridiculous amount of Selma Blair photos. It'll have to wait.

It doesn't come out in Australia until the end of August and I don't torrent, so I'll have to wait until then.

Really good Del Toro movie. Still doesn't feel like Hellboy though.

Has anyone seen Chronos or the Devil's Backbone? Looking for opinions on those.

vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.

I rented Cronos a few years back. If you don't mind subtitles, or know Spanish, it's worth watching just for being strange and against the grain. Overall I was disappointed though. I'm more of a zombie movie kind of guy. The pacing is somewhat drawn out and the flick doesn't provide any real scares. IIRC, Ron Perlman played a sleazy dude in that flick, which is cool.

I put the 'shill' in 'cockmonkey'.

Saw it two nights ago. Thought it was amazing. Much better than the first. If box office returns are good they definitely set themselves up for a third.

Got both of those with Pan's Labyrinth in a Del Toro DVD box set and loved them. I liked Devil's Backbone more than Cronos I think. It's also about the Spanish civil war, very moving and genuinely creepy in places, although I wouldn't call it a horror film a such. If you're thinking of getting the same box set then it's definitely worth it. *edit* Cronos, not Chronos, thanks stu!

I was kind of disappointed with Hellboy II, as compared to the first film. I'm not terribly familiar with the source material, admittedly, but the sequel seemed more like a Del Toro movie that happened to have Hellboy in it, than a Del Toro movie about Hellboy, like the first one.
