Finally signed up for league #2. The Pants Party: JV Edition lives on! May we rumble to another championship on the backs of Ryan Grant and Peyton Manning!

Why isn't it football season yet?

Yep.  Nebu still hasn't signed up.  Ohhhhh, I see.

I'm in.  Sorry for the delay.  I have my daughter and got stuck teaching a summer course.  2h lectures x 5 days a week = lose!

If you want a spot in the JV league, you can take mine. Since I'm in both I would gladly give up my spot so more F13ers can be in one or the other.

Not really much of a difference between the two.  It's existence owes itself to there being too many people that want to play fantasy football.  It's not some sort of degenerate relegation league.

Go ahead and boot me.  I've got a full plate this year.

UPDATE: I left the league, so you should be good with an even number of teams.  Hope that helps.

Alrighty, I was hoping for a double leaguer to drop, but this will work.  Thanks, Nebu.  I may attempt to draw you back in if you get another FF player rising from the dead.

Signed up for a Fantasy Game for the first time of my life...
And needless to say, I screwed up as I just once made small list of players I'd like to sign and then don't check when the draft was...

Being a Steeler fan, one half of my players now are from PIT (Big Ben, Parker,Holmes, Harrison, Woodley and the D itself) , and the other half either didn't play last season (Pacman, Antonio Bryant), are rookies (Chris Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall as a handcuff, Mayo), or Returners/3rd stringers (Steve Breaston). Oh and also featuring: Jeff Reed, Champ Bailey and Angelo Crowell.

Any suggestions as how to survive in a head-to-head league with Defensive points assigned?
If anyone is bored- here are the exact rules.

Am I reading correctly that there is a TE/WR slot (i.e that we don't have to start a TE at all and cannot start more than 1 RB).  I'm not complaining -- I actually like that setup in a league this size -- I just want to make sure this is Working As Intended.

I'm about to undergo my annual ritual of getting frantically obsessive over who to draft at the last minute after not reading anything beforehand, with the result of putting together a squad worse than autodraft would give me!

This post makes me want to squeeze into my badass red jeans.

My Squad of Attack Monkies will destroy you all. I just wanted to let you know that before the draft so you don't get any big ideas.

The WR/TE slot is a little weird.  I may have missed that vote.

I never noticed that either. Any way we can change it before the draft tomorrow? Otherwise you might as well just make it a WR slot with exceptions for 3 or 4 TEs in the league.

Sucks, I'm gonna miss the live draft tomorrow night as it's the middle of playoffs right now for me.

Autodraft SUCKS and I just haven't had the time to read up on what the fuck is going on in the nfl.

I think an auto draft would do better than me right now.  I haven't been paying attention to the NFL at all.

I went W/T because with 14 teams, less than half will get a quality TE. Also, the point system favors WRs with only 10yds per point and a whopping .5 per reception.

The limited roster is there to make sure all 14 teams have at least two decent players somewhere.

14 RBs is a stretch, too, but injuries always make back-up selection impoirtant and that will go double with this league.

I have never played WoW.

Might as well just eliminate the position then. Who the hell would play a TE when they could play a WR?

I wouldn't mind forcing someone to to have a TE.  At least then we don't have a defacto 3 WR league with 14 teams.

Being aware of the gap between the top 3-4 TEs and everyone else, knowing when to pull the trigger to best take advantage of that gap, and alternatively knowing when to avoid the TE rush if you miss the top, is part of the strategy involved in drafting well.  Eliminating it removes that from the equation.  That, and making RB a single position, has basically it ok to auto draft this year.

Oh god, I forgot what TIME the draft was... autodraft doesn't know very much about having backups.
