I thought it would be fun to start a thread about album covers. They don't have to be ultimate favorites, just ones you feel are cool in some way or other.

Daft Punk - Alive 2007

I like this one because I like black and I like neon. Also, it doesn't have the name of the music group on it! Bonus points for using font resembling what could be used for a title shot in a '60s horror flick. Squeeee.

I'm sure schild will be all over this thread within an hour or two unless he went to bed at a reasonable time, but that never happens.

Album itself isn't that great, though. Couple good songs.

I'm not sure why, but that Big Black album makes me think about the NOFX one with the guy and the sheep: NSFW!

Oh God no. I hate to associate such a kickass band with him.

No, I just remember talking about Big Black/Steve Albini with Righ, Signe, and CmdrSlack before. That's much better than, say, hanging out at VN with a bunch of "Disturbed" fans.

All recent stuff, but Wolfmother's debut album is pretty much my favorite from the corny metal family of covers.

Muttley was my band's mascot. We also had Court of the Crimson King, Songs in the Key of Life and other psychedelic stuff up in the bandroom. Good times.

Did Stray just call Don't Break the Oath a cheesy cover? One of my favorites, and a great album to boot.

Here's one I loved as a kid, but it's kinda cheesy in retrospect. Also my first arena concert, and the massive stage Metallion blew my fragile mind.

All the Maiden covers rocked:

I once silkscreened the first couple Venom albums. The third (iirc) was the coolest, though. Textured like an old tome.

I love that one of the greatest metal albums of all time's image is hosted on a christian resources site.

Another classic album/cover:

Tom Warrior!

Finally, when you listen to fools:

Not that I was into metal as a kid.

So I'll submit this one :P
