Alright, who all has bought tickets, is planning to buy tickets, or needs someone to stay with. Let's get this shit figured out right. Also, if there's something in AZ you want to see or do, let's plan in advance.

Edit: Here's the people I know about atm or are tentative (people with stars are tentative).

Just need to get accommodations sorted out and I'm good on getting my tickets.

Someone to stay with or splitting the rental car with someone would be awesome as getting one for myself seems like an awful waste.  (I hardly drive as is awesome, for real.)

Well, I'll be flying in Thursday the 8th, and out Tuesday the 13th, getting a tiny rental car, and staying in the Chandler Best Western. Should have crash space for a couple people in a non-smoking room if you don't mind someone who snores. I'll know more details on the room soon.

Take my name off of the list, dude.  Between work and the apprenticeship I just don't have the time/opportunity.   Sad Panda

I'll likely do it as long as my tax return comes in (which it should). I've got the air travel covered with points, so I'll probably just find a cheap hotel room for myself. Give me an idea as to what part of the city I should be staying in that I won't incur a massive cab expense.

As to doing stuff, mostly I'll be looking for interesting shit to take pictures of while hopefully not melting.

Yep.  If it were just my day job, which I hate, I'd have no problem skipping off.  But the apprenticeship...  not so much.  I was lucky to get into this place, and I'm not looking to go requesting vacation time 'til I've got my shingle well and truly hung up.

You REALLY want me to make a joke about what you just said, I can tell.  I'm going to take the high road and not actually say what we're all thinking for once.  I will definitely laugh about it, though.

I'm looking at flight options. The first option that came up on Alaska when I tried using my miles was a 12 hour total trip. From Vancouver to Pheonix - which is about a three hour flight.

Since I will be moving to California in a few days, put me down as a possible. I'll have to see if the dates are open pending work stuff that I won't know about until mid-April.

I'm looking at hotels, and since I was ignored above when I asked what part of town I should be in *sniff*...

I found one in Tempe, close to the airport, that appears to be right beside Arizona Mills, which based on Google Maps Street Views is a hugemoungous mall.

Would this are make sense, or is there somewhere else I should be looking?

Find one by the Chandler Mall if you can.  Big mall, significantly closer.  Although being in Tempe gives people a place to crash after a night of whoring at the ASU bars!

Yeah, sorry, dsl woes have distracted me.

Best Western of Chandler 950 N Arizona Ave,  Chandler, AZ 85224. Fairly close to Schild.

Still haven't been able to get a definite answer out of the hotel due to the package deal thingy I got, but should be in a King suite, so an extra twin bed and couch for crash space.
Sadly, none of the other people I tried to rope in are able to make it.

Ok, now looking at a hotel right at the Chandler Fashion Mall. Windmill Inns. Full suite with a balcony for $130.

or

I can go to the Best Western where Rattran is staying for as cheap as $79.

I hate decisions.
