Couple little details make it even more awesome, such as the fact that Hawkeye is going to rip his arm in half if he releases that arrow that way,

That was the 2nd thing I noticed.  The first being that he's apparently using his chin to help draw the bow.  swamp poop

We had a cheetah do something similar to my son at the Columbus zoo.  However, the animals there are behind only chain-link fence with only a sign to keep you away from said fence. So when we noticed it was stalking him up and down the fenceline as he ran back and forth along the path we decided it was best to move along.

At Bush Gardens in Tampa they have an enormous hyena enclosure with plexiglass walls like that.  Once when I was there the plexiglass had spider webbed and deformed (bulging out toward the viewing area) at about chest height and about 3 feet across.  Later on the same day I went back by and it had been covered over with a sheet of plywood.

I always imagined that some hyena got a good running start and decided he was going to give fresh meat a try.

Clever gurl...

edit: now that I watched that full lion/baby video - it's actually pretty fucking intense watching that lioness' focus on the kid.

I was just about to post that pic from the riots - that's a sweet shot.  Use of both foreground and background depth makes it awesome.  The legs intertwined make it really sexy without being improper.  Just an overall masterful shot.

Also, after watching the video of the cat, I'm not 100% sure it was trying to eat the kid.  That looked more like play behavior.  Very cool no matter what.

Yea, that photo may be the one thing that saves my city's reputation coming out of this mess.

It really is sad - a small group clearly preplanned the riot, actually bringing balaclavas and molotov's with them... You start a few fires and break a few windows in a dense crowd of 120,000 and you're going to get some chaos.

Big facebook pushes by the public to post pics of the rioters and id them, as well as organizing efforts to get volunteers downtown to clean up the mess.

To be clear though - this was not a mass, city wide riot. It was some cars set on fire, some portapotties tipped, a number of fights, and a few stores broken in to. It was all contained within a few blocks by police, but it took forever to control because of the sheer size of the crowd.

Bunk, two things.  First, thanks for the Avengers pic, that was very nice.  Second, it's nice to see Canada embarassed instead of us for a change.  Maybe you guys won't be so uppitty now.  You smug bastards.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Strangely enough, that pic gives me flashbacks of Paris when I visited there in the late 80's.  I hated my time there. Parisians are pricks, even if you do try to communicate in what little high school French you can recall (folks outside Paris were FAR friendlier).  There was a wave of bombings going off across the city while I was there, including a couple that I missed being in the vicinity of by only a couple hours.  Gendarmes were standing guard with automatic rifles or submachine guns at EVERY street corner and halfway between on the longer blocks.  And at no time of the day or night could you NOT hear the dee-dah-dee-dah-dee-dah of a police siren somewhere not too far away.  I still get a little frisson of anxiety every time I hear that sound in a movie.  Yet with all that madness going on around you, you would still inevitably come across a scene or two not too dissimilar to this photo (but without the flames) every single day.

Yes, I know I'm paranoid, but am I paranoid enough?

I think there are quite a few omissions. Nightcrawler doesn't seem to be there either.

I see him!

How many comic characters did not have super strength as an ability? It's right up there with breathing as a unique trait.

Paste-Pot Pete seems pretty tame as a super-villain name too.

A lot of those superheroes could be slotted in multiple spheres (Jean Grey/Phoenix only in telekinesis?) - no clue where Deadpool is though.

Matter-Eater Lad could consume any matter. That was his power. Seriously, that was it. He was part of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th century. At least he wasn't as important a character as Bouncing Boy.

Paste Pot Pete eventually became the Trapster. He was a gadget guy who made this super holding paste that he shot at people.

I guess it just makes you realise how many mindbogglingly daft characters the comic industry has generated over the past 40-50 years.

Though actually accurate for a time.  He had a clone that went AWOL.

Is awesome! DRILLING AND MANLINESS Who else could've saved the universe from destruction by eating the Miracle Machine?* I think I still have that issue somewhere. One of my characters in City of Heroes has a green and yellow costume as an homage to him.

* Okay anybody from his home world probably could've done it but still, he was the one who did!
