What kind of insane person goes into a combat zone without a helmet?

To go with the other one I posted awhile back. Now it begs the question, wtf is going on in China that the Earth has decided to just start moving around.

To hazard a guess, tons and tons of development and construction with shitty, shitty, shitty building codes and corrupt building officials.  Recall the schools that killed an entire generation of some villages last year when they collapsed.

Any soil can liquefy given the right moisture content and a little vibration.  Remember that soil is just really tiny rocks and you can replicate it easily with sand.

You live in an over-priced area. Those prices are pretty in-line with most sane restaurants around here.

You must live in an underpriced area.  Just getting fast food nearly costs that much all over Houston, much less a real restaurant.

Those prices are in-line with Applebees, Friday's, etc around here as well.   I'd go with Houston being overpriced because.. it's Houston.

For people who live in Houston, clearly.

And put me on the "that looks really inexpensive" list.  Those look like value meal at McD prices.

For a city its size, Houston is very reasonable.  It's 30% less expensive than Chicago and 10% cheaper than Phoenix.  Both are cities of similar size.

Those are prices you might see in a pub that knows it makes all it's money off drinks. Normally restaurants around here - no chance. White Spot dinners start at $12 here.

$3.50 FOR CHIPS AND SALSA.  There can be no defending of that menu's prices after that.  If you think that menu looks like a good deal, you live in a place where food is overpriced.  And if you want to argue with me, you must post an awesome picture.

We are in California, Samwise. Everywhere else in the US, even places like Texas which have no reason to, treat Mexican food like it's imported. Chips and salsa is gourmet. Otherwise it'd be "nachos".

Charging for chips and salsa is pretty common at places that aren't Mexican.

Chili's does this nationally, but they are all you can eat once you purchase.

You did not post an awesome picture; your argument is irrelevant.

Not like most of the other prices are spectacular either.  I mean, I wouldn't throw down the menu and storm out if I had to pay $5 for onion rings and $8 for a chicken sandwich, but if I came back it wouldn't be for the awesome prices.
