Looks legit, they get it from two angles in his youtube vid.

At the end of this clip are his failed tries. He keeps falling hard trying that stunt.

Well, he knows how to take a fall.  The flip over the stairs onto the skateboard was cool but there wasn't anything beyond what you would see in any Warren Miller flick.

I'm probably the only one who thinks these are awesome, but with them I can party like its 1986, cept with 2008 levels of sculpting and articulation:

Pretty awesome but I'm left with the question:

And then what happened?

Ice got greedy.  Mav flew right through the jetwash, and then Goose died.  Then they all played volleyball and had sex with the instructor.

Hmm, I am tempted to call shenanigans on that.

Look at the 2nd one on the linked page. The pile of junk has considerable depth along the axis between it and the shadow yet the shadow is an extremely hard-edged shadow with a completely uniform density - much more like the shadow from a flat cut-out. Also the pool of light surrounding the shadow touches the floor, yet there is no trail of light from the junk pile to the edge of that light pool on the wall. Finally, if you look at the lighting on the actual piles of junk they are clearly lit from a high angle, way off the junk-to-shadow axis.

I suspect that the shadows are being projected from somewhere else. I could well be wrong but reverse-engineering lighting in photographs and films is something I spend a lot of time doing (to the extreme annoyance of my girlfriend often...).

Edit: photoshopped it - and offset it a bit to let it MAYBE seem a little reasonable. Also, just noticed the two birds in the foreground, lol. Would have been totally fucking amazing if it were in the realm of reasonable. The general shape is there though. Could've been more fail, I suppose.

Yeah, they're certainly close enough for it to be difficult to tell if they're faked or not. And it was only the 2nd one that really made me question it. I'm still not 100% sure either way.

And frankly, even if they're faked, it's still a really cool idea and nicely done, therefore still awesome IMO  awesome, for real

The other related images from this link are less subtle.  It's complete bullshit.

Well that does shift my opinion slightly more towards the "it's real" side, but I'm still not 100% convinced. Either way, like I said, I still think they're awesome :)

I actually saw that piece at Boston's art museum a few years back.  It's real.  Pretty amazing to see it in person.

I like how some people ignore the fact that the lights being put at different angles could produce what you don't directly see.

Not only that, the angle from the picture taken is different from the angle which creates the shadow, so it looks weird.
