That machete is totally badass!

And slingshots rock, I need to get one. Used to have one when I was a kid for rodent control, and there's a few squirrels and especially one squawky female crow just beggin' for it.

I would advise against hitting the crow. Corvids have an insane memory and tight-knit community structure, and her family will seek vengeance. I'm serious.

I know. I wouldn't do it anyway, the slingshot brought out the ITG (internet tough guy) in me. I did use to kill squirrels and other varmints with one when I was a kid for vermin control, but I'm not sure I'd do it today.

Though to be honest, I'd bet the entire crow community would thank me. She's the meanest bitch I've ever seen, constantly chasing the other crows around, getting right in their beaks, squawking and trying to steal their food.

The Guitar Hero reminds me of Edgar Friendly from Demolition Man.

"I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, 'Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?' I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the nonsmoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jello all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing, 'I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener'."

Rock on, Guitar Hero. Rock on.

Anyways, here's an awesome war photo.

World of Nutrition the MMO. Choose between the Meat or the Vegetable & Fruit faction. Unique classes like the Wiener Pyro or the Ham Whatthefuck. Full PVP combat.

I wish it was me. I'm no fighter pilot, just a lowly ground pounder. The closest I've done to that is HALO, and that's not nearly as cool as that guy :)

You've done a HALO drop? Is the rush as amazing as they say?

I do not risk my life in that way, but if there was anything XTREME I wanted to do, that'd be first on the list.

It's really nothing more than skydiving. I haven't done it outside of training, but the thing that has always stood out the most to me is that I don't really have a sense of how high you are when you do it. Even on static line jumps from under 1300 feet you don't notice how high you are.

Or at least I don't.

Once the green light comes on and the door is open/ramp is down, you momentarily forget what it is that you're doing. I feel like the rush is when your 'chute opens. That's when it hits me what I've just done.

edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is that I find it more frightening to jump off of a 20 foot cliff into a lake than out of a plane.

I've always found it interesting, the barrier that won't let some people jump off a cliff. When I was in the band, we were avid cliff/bridge/tree/whatever jumpers. My only rule was to watch a local jump first, I'd jump off anything after that. We used to bring a lot of people out to jump, and you could literally never tell who would freeze up and totally balk. Some people would just stand there and we'd jump over them, out of a tree behind the cliff or off the bridge rail or whatever. I never understood it, you've just watched a half-dozen people make the jump several times and still think it's dangerous? Ah, well.

I'm a shitty swimmer, so my reasoning is that if I can jump/dive off something and not hit bottom I'm probably screwed after I jump.

I'm not really sure what it is about jumping off of something.

I've done a fair amount of big wall rock climbing, sleeping on port-a-ledges, huge rappels... I'm not afraid of heights. It's not landing, either, because you land like a bag of shit when you jump a regular round canopy. Maybe it's how fast it all happens? I know I'm really interested in base jumping.

I can't figure it out.

Wouldn't this really depend on the quality of the locals.  hehe.

I'm hesistant to jump anymore after watching a friend jump (after many, many, many people did including locals).

We were down in the river, saw him up top, noticed the people standing in the water about 15 feet from where everyone jumped...right about the time he jumped.  when he came up he had that "oh shit, i'm going to die look"  i'll see if i can find the picture he sent of his back.

Well...yeah. That's why you watch someone jump first. I've seen someone do the "BE CAREFUL!" jump into shallow water and almost break his legs, too. Fuck that noise. But a local generally knows the proper form to jump, whether to arch or whatever. If they get damaged, no jump.

The only couple that scared me were one about 70-80 feet up that you had to do a blind running jump and another that had a substantial rock shelf you had to clear and massive boulders in the water. Every spring the boulders had shifted and if you didn't have a good, sunny day to see where to jump....scary.
