Tha dune pic is amazing.  We climb a maybe 150' dune when we go on vacation, and it's the hardest damn work getting to the top.  That pic dwarfs my little vacation dune, and makes me realize that I would not travel well in the desert.

I often look at simple machines that we take for granted and go "OK, whoever came up with that is an effing genius." That's one right there.

It always depresses me because I feel like there are so many simple solutions/ machines still out there begging to be invented and I just can't see them myself.

But I've always trended to the problem-solving vs. philosophic/ design side of things.

You can get them cheaper if you don't mind the manual cranks.

Rich fucks People put these on their yachts. Because even on a yacht space is premium.

Oh, and a contribution (wasn't sure how this fell on the cute/awesome scale)

I can't stop looking at how horrible that carpet and rug are together.  And I rarely care about stuff like that.

Doesn't putting a rug on top of carpet actually ruin the carpet?

Eventually.

No idea how old that animation is though. Could be a GIF of a rip of a Betamax of a living room for all I know.

Or a brothel.  awesome, for real

I must be getting old... All I'm seeing is head injury potential on a massive scale.

Yeah, pretty much. For the most part it looked to me like the guy couldn't control it out of water for more than a couple seconds while the audience tried to be excited. It also didn't help that it was a Girls Gone Wild video without the saving grace of tits.
