The CRAZIEST man alive. You have to be off a little in the head to even consider jumping from near space to earth.
Ahem, Joseph Kittinger is still alive.

"My great-grandfather did not travel across four thousand miles of the Atlantic Ocean to see this nation overrun by immigrants.  He did it because he killed a man back in Ireland. That's the rumor."

Since the D20[/s D10] ring pic was in here, I thought I'd share a string I saw this weekend titled, "When Geeks Fall in Love."

Spoilered due to length.

That RJ45 ring (the male version) looks like it'd be uncomfortable as hell to wear.

That's because you are not supposed to put it there...  why so serious?

You guys mostly all know I want to live in a spooky house in the woods much like where I grew up.  Maybe not this one, though.

That kind of house really appeals to me for some reason. Only if it had power, functioning plumbing, and a sattelite dish tho.  why so serious?

Do you really want to wobble home on that pathway after a night out on the town?

I don't think that's the kind of place you want to go if you're still going out on the town. It's a place to go to get away from the town. And possibly attach to a set of balloons.

As long as it had power, AC, internet, and didn't flood I'd love that place.

I'd never leave, so the walkway only means less visitors!  Win-win.

Little islands have relatively few mosquitos because wind speeds up over flat lakes and blows winged bugs to shore. Weirdly, the big difficulties are water related: "Where do you get your potable water?" and "Where do you dump your sewage?" Pipes to and from the mainland are a major challenge.

Polyurathanes are often a very fast forming foam.  The two chemicals when mixed react so rapidly, and have enough gaseous by-product, that they foam up to several times the volume of the solution.  As the molecules polymerize (analogous to adding links to a chain), they become intertwined and solidify.  Once solidified they tend to be light and fairly durable.

A common usage of the type you see here is foam insulation.  Less reactive types are used as coatings.  Padding in car bumpers is another use.
